For me, Dyches time at Burnley was equivalent to Moyes with us, only on significantly less funds. He came in when we were 2nd from bottom. Thelwell didn't provide him with any players and we sold Gordon. Not exactly great tools to play with when we had shown all season that these players are not very good.
Dyche had to work hard to get something out of this shabby lot of players and without key players for most of his tenure a record of P18 W5 D6 L7 is not bad considering. Every team we played under Dyche was above us in the league and he kept us up when it looked unlikely.
You have to forget his Burnley days as that was a constant battle for him due to lack of funds and he did a decent job there with hands tied behind his back.
What we learned from his time at Burnley is that Dyche can make the best of a bad lot. If Dyche ever gets decent funds here he may get us established again over a couple of seasons and I think that will be his remit....it has to be.
Depending on budget I think Dyche will have to shop in Lidl and that is not Dyches fault. He came to a calamity of a Club and did well to keep us up.
Deserves to be kept on no doubt.
Moyes is hailed as ‘the Moysiah’ by some yet Dyche is cited as beneath us
