Leicester bought him for 36mil at 19 and he was 20 in the December of his first season. And on the back of 2 seasons in the French league. He was obviously massively rated. Bit like us paying 33mil for Onana at 20 and playing him.

Branthwaite May sart the season, I just think he’s still untried at prem level and it maybe a few months till we see him.
I said before I'm 50/50 on him tbh, I remember the few games he had previously for the first team and he clearly had ability but he didn't look great in the air and his positioning looked dubious at times. At the same time under no circumstances can we be starting the new season with Tarkowski and Keane at CB, that's an accident waiting to happen imo.

I see Branthwaite is the new Baresi now after a good season in Holland

I’d love for him to start the season next to Tarkowski and be as good as some are saying but I fear there are some overreactions to his quality here
I dont expect him to be perfect but the lad will have pre season to make a case to start, i would look for another cb to come in once we hopefully let holgate go. Even if he does not start as the starting pair of cb he will still get games and is up to him to get himself in the team. I do think he has it in him to be a great cb just hope that he is ready to kick on

I think dyche will want a new partner with for Tarkowski. With Keane and Branthwaite as back up. He obviously trusts Keane.
I think he will be trying to shift holgate and Godfrey

But in the paragraph you've highlighted, I'm not insulting a difference of opinion over a manager, player, coach or match. I'm bemoaning the long standing issue, witnessed on these pages many times, of our fans constantly moaning about how rubbish we are now and how we've been left behind, whilst continually advocating for/excusing the kind of decisions that have put us there.
Don't think any one is excusing or advocating want has happened in the past. What people realise is we have been mismanaged for many a year and some terrible decisions have been made but why is that Dyches fault? Dyche hasn't spent a penny yet and prevented us going down when we were one of the favourites to go down. You are comparing his Burnley days (small miracles really) and are jumping to the conclusion that he will manage Everton the same. We can only wait and see but as I say and believe.....he deserves the chance

Well we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. You can see precisely what Dyche is about from his half a season. Just as we could with Allardyce - and it's not good.

We are run like a club from the 80s and we've appointed a manager who practically works that way, with a few token concessions to the modern game, so it's on brand for our failing club.
