the most ridiculous thing is that there are some people who actually take it seriously, like we are going to make any signings

Well we normally do in the summer window most years, it’s not crazy to think we might again

How much have other bottom half teams done? I can only think of a few Bournemouth brought in Kluivert's son, and Luton bought a centre back from the championship. Sad truth is even with money we are way down the pecking order.

For me they both back it up. I like how he plays. I like that he had a better goal scoring rate at a younger age than players who are leaving the championship for better leagues at higher prices.

We aren't in the championship though!
And we need money.
Were those players leaving for more money important players in their clubs?
How long were their contracts
And his stats in the PL are not good at all and Maupay, who did nothing, got more game time than him since Dyche came in. His stats and eye test must be just as poor in training

For those stuck on the Simms deal he absolutely didn’t do what we needed him to do. I’m not saying he shouldn’t have gotten more of a chance yada yada, but he REALLY struggled with his positioning for linkup play in games. I’m not going to pretend he didn’t have a few bright moments sprinkled in but he was clueless every time he got actual minutes.

I think Carlo alluded to something similar seeing him in practice when he was coaching us and nothing seems to have changed. The light doesn’t always come on for some players. It’s a shame. I hope he grows into it because there is a player there if he can get the mental side down.

I’m not saying he can’t develop that part of his game as a lone striker, but I can see it taking a few years which we can’t afford.

2 or 3 players that improve us need to be in by the start of the season, striker, winger and hopefully a lb. Still think we need 2 more in on top of that but starting to doubt we'll even get in the bare minimum we need.

Only Sheffield United, Fulham and us haven't signed anybody yet.

I always rated Lewis Dobbin he’s pretty quick and this could be a breakout season for him.

I can understand why another team might not spend money to bring him in but for us he's literally already here. We need strikers. DCL is not going to play 30 games. We're rumored to be looking to toss a ton at that Toure fella who I wouldn't say is definitely better.

The first mistake, as it always is with Everton, is not trusting him before when we could have figured out what exactly we had. But to now spend more money to find a prospect to figure out if that next guy is good is just a waste to me. How about the guy we have gets a chance first? Is that so crazy?

My main thing with Simms is every single year people posted about how he wouldn't hack it at the next level only to step up and be plenty good enough. I also like how he plays! He's good at maneuvering and getting shots away in the box. He has a good feel for positioning himself. He's got just enough pace, and maybe more importantly the ability to switch gears, to trouble defenders 1v1 at times. I just find him really intriguing and hate that we're going to sell him after two starts when we have nothing else in his spot!

I'm sorry to do this to you m8, but I think you have been watching the wrong player...

Highly doubt it. Didn't do enough with Derby and don't think he's up to Premier League standards. I have much more faith in a possible breakout for Stanley Mills.

I'd be amazed if we had more than one player in for the start of the season.

If that's the case, it's going to be a long ride as we will have written off a huge chunk of points.
