Yeah 100%, I reckon we will get players in cos like you say, we haven’t got the best bargaining tool when we’ve got a serious lack of money so deals may get done late on when clubs just ease up and become more accepting of deals like the ones we’re currently offering. Plus, players start to become available, either for transfer or loan, has other clubs put their squad’s together
Yeah, got to remember that last summer we brought in 8 in the end but only 3 were in at this stage so we’re broadly on the same trajectory.

Every club wants everything done by game one but if you’re going to put the deadline later in the month it’s just not going to happen- these are multi million three way negotiations and with anything like that you often need the hard deadline to force the deal.

Need a few more in than just chermiti, assuming he can get through the “48 hour” Everton medical marathon.

No where near enough decent cover - the brains trust have left us worse off than last season.
I wouldn't worry about the '48 hour' medical, I'd worry more about the '2yr treatment accommodation' that comes with it.

Sources: Everton discuss agreeing Maguire loan deal

Everton have discussed signing Man United defender Harry Maguire on loan, sources have told Football Insider.

The Merseysiders, as well as Chelsea and Tottenham, have registered their interest in signing the England centre-back before the window shuts, while West Ham have had a bid knocked back.

Maguire on loan would be good business. Hes a fine wine but Branthwaite is the cheeky Beaujolais. Beggars belief there is no striker signed. A top flight club going through this again is beyond a tragedy. Its a Billy Kenwright farce…

“What about Harry Maguire?”
”He‘s on 200k a week Kev”
”Right, who’s next on the list?”

DISCUSSED.
