summer transfers

If Martinez was being earnest when he said he hopes his targets have a poor World Cup, then I am fairly confident we're after Majeed Waris from Spartak Moscow. 22 years old, centre forward and he will start up front for Ghana.

He's been on loan at Valenciennes this season and got 9 goals, 5 assists in 15 appearances. Also, we have already done business with Spartak Moscow for McGeady...

What we need
A striker to add to Kone and Naismith, a striker who is better then Kone and Naismith, hopefully Lukaku.
A right back, as Coleman cant play every game but we don't need to splash out as we have one of the best right backs, so another buy like Stones would be ideal, a young natural right back, don't know who, maybe the one from Leeds.
Cover for McCarthy
A new center back, who can settle in over the season to be ready for next season.
A new winger maybe on loan

Hmmm, maybe then. But i did read that some firm as took over the rights of most Twente players and it's down to them what the players get sold for , so you dont know what silly money they'll want, but i do remember we was signing Fer for £8.6m and it didnt happen then come the summer he went to Norwich for less than half!

I'd love Tadic tbf, im certain Martinez probably rates him too as he looks the kind of player he would like in his team but can wee afford him and Lukaku? i'm not sure.

I think cos Martinez desperately wants Rom, i dont think we'll make another signing in the excess of £8-10m, aswell as give Barry a deal and make some loan signings. I know Tadic as a year left on his current deal but i dont think he'll go cheap. He's easily one of, if not the best player in Holland right now and look at Eriksen, he was in a similar situation at Ajax and Spurs got him for £11m was it?

Think the difference is that Erickson has had a lot of hype from day one, coming from ajaz as well had a bot more prestige rightly or wrongly and was younger so paying for potential etc, no idea if the ownerships changed as the article im going on is from last January when he was still with the same agent mate, but as the Fer deal shows coming into the last year of a contract will knock off a lot of his asking price

Guestimate could be available for anywhere from 6-10m depending on just how bad Twente finances are right now

Barely had a look in at Benfica this season i dont think

Nah played a handful of sub appearances i think, dunno if he just hasn't settled or the Benfica team has that much talent in his way he has found it hard to break in, he's on my loan possibility list along with the Croatian lad at inter as their both talented but not managed to make an impression afetr moving their for decent money

think both the rb and cb spots may be earmarked for Browning to come through mate, with Martinez saying about not wanting to sign players that get in the way of natural talent coming through i think it's likely we won't bring any in for those, same with the cm as it's one we have both Lundstram and Ledson who are on the verge of breaking into the squad as well so can see us not clogging those areas with too many incomings

It would suggest a deal for a veteran cm like Barry or similar - who has a natural expectancy of a few years tops playing and maybe a hibbert one year deal to provide cover in emergency is maybe the way we will see it pan out

In short the areas we will more likely concentrate on are ones we don't have young players pushing on the door to come through, so striker, attacking mid/wing look the two big areas their maybe that we will see the focus on

Twente have financial problems meaning they have to sell players in the summer mate, and Tadic contract runs to 2015 so entering the last year shortly too

Think half of him was sold to a third party a few months mate (ill have to look it up), but that could pose a problem. But, as you know, i want us to get Tadic here no matter what. Him, Lukaku, Barkley and Mirallas will absolutely tear teams apart.

Cheers be interesting how it would effect any fee if his ownership is now muddled, I'm assuming his contract would still be up in 12 months though which in this regard is the big de3cider on any fee etc, player himself ruling out any move to Italy and saying about England, Spain or Germany was another good sign

Another maybe potential good sign was Roberto repeatedly saying that his transfer targets weren't available in January, Dusan Tadic was never going to be available in January, plus the fact we've been linked with him a fair bit too.

Thanks for the reply, didn't now Browning could play right back so that would be perfect. I'm not sure if Ledson is ready for next season, he still a baby.

From when we were linked in january with him mate

According to TC Tubantia:

Everton will make an attempt in the coming weeks to sign Dudan Tadic from FC Twente. The English side have serious interest in the 25-year-old Serbian striker, who still have 2.5 years left on his contract in Enschede.

Tadic has had an excellent first half of the season at Twente and for Serbia, during which time the striker has clocked up 11 goals and two assists for club and country. With everything going swimmingly well for the Serb, it’s no surprise to learn that just last week the attacker told TC Tubantia:

I want to finish the season at Twente, because I’m not in favour of changing teams the middle of the season. In the winter team’s often panic buy. I would only move if a dream club came in for me. But I’m not ready to leave Twente. I need the team and this team needs me.

Whether Everton would be a dream club for Tadic remains to be seen, however the indications are that the Serb would be interested in a move to Roberto Martinez’s Toffees.

Having joined FC Twente from FC Groningen for £6.8m last summer, TC Tubantia report that Everton could acquire the striker if they offer a bid of around 12 million euros.

12m EUROS for Tadic?! Buy of the season if that happens. Genuinely.

Given the likely appointment of a new Barcelona manager there seems to be doubts if Deulofeu will come back for a second season. No idea how true those rumours are, doubt we'll find out for a few weeks as the new manager will probably need time to assess his squad.

But assuming for the sake of argument he won't be back, and that Barcelona have been happy with the way the loan has gone, who would be a good loan from them next year? Either a youngster from Barca B or an underused player already in the senior squad.

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere in the thread, couldn't find it on a quick search but thought I recalled some talk of an lad who'd had a lot of injuries.
