The Ba ship has sailed though I think, we could've got him for free after West Ham but didnt, and he had a small release clause at Newcastle but again we didnt. Too old and too late now.

Earlier in the season there was a bit of friction between Jose & big Rom so let's hope Mourinhio's still happy to sell. That stat about top u21 goalscorer in top 5 leagues says it all, getting him in permanently would be a big step up for us. All the top teams have at least 1 class striker

Been speaking to THT on twitter about players and who we could be in for but he didnt give any names but said there's gonna be plenty of activity this summer, some exciting signings and that Lukaku is our No.1 target, which we all knew.

I asked him about Tadic aswell and he says we definitely watched him in the build up to January and that he was too pricey back then but isnt sure wether we'll revisit that one this summer?!

Also he said he wasnt sure Barry would sign on permanently either. Thinks he'll look at other options and thinks he could go elsewhere as Barry was offered a deal in Jan and wouldnt commit, so seems to think he's used us to put his name back on the map for one last big move.

So he's told you that we are looking at players and will sign some of those players, But no names

Gonna throw a curve bsll out now and say i think a deal has effectively been dobe behind the scenes already, what were hearing now is popcorning and playing the press by jose and bobby, chelsea want to use having him to make their need less desperate when prices for other strikers they want are discussed, everton need a delay so it can be their big summer announcemebt - probably released at the same time as a bad news story such as the stadium not progressing or timed with tge villa takeover

Both managers seem to actually like and respect each other, and think jose lijes having a supporter their especially one putting rivals under threat, vault me if im wrong like

One thing for certain is Lukaku will not be anywhere next season that has him as number two mate, the entire reason he demanded to be loaned or sold this season was he was unwilling to play second fiddle to anyone, another year starting for a better team than west brom and then going a world cup as the starting striker will only strengthen that feeling not lessen it

Aye mate, just the way Martinez is, i can't see anything other than a lot of contact through the season with the loan clubs as he comes across as someone keeping the parent clubs informed, and im pretty sure during that time both parties intentions have become clear, think the deals in place just needs to be signed off come the summer

I don't think Mourinho has the final say on transfers at Chelsea mate, it will down to abramovich and who they can get in during the summer. He won't want another sturridge situation

Thats a fair point mate, but i do think when selling Mourinho does have an influence on where the player goes to as well, he doesn't sell to people considered a direct rival either in Europe or the league, and we probably aren't considered as one in one and cannot be a rival in the other yet

As i said though its more my gut instinct atm, that a lot has been done behind the scenes and this is a bit of a pantomime act now, drumming up stories about Ba to get him sold off elsewhere and to lower any price of a incoming striker due to still having Lukaku on the books, for everton the benefit is a smooth deal, plus distraction of rivals contemplating bringing lukaku in and having to change plans late on when he signs for us, plus iut can actually be used as is currently to disguise any deals we are trying to make elsewhere as people know we are trying to save money for Lukaku and therefore stops us being milked for other players

I think Jose saw something in Mata that made him think he wouldn't regret selling him. That might not be the case with lukaku.

Him signing for us is more likely by far than him being Chelsea's second choice striker mate, that for certain will not happen

Given the likely appointment of a new Barcelona manager there seems to be doubts if Deulofeu will come back for a second season. No idea how true those rumours are, doubt we'll find out for a few weeks as the new manager will probably need time to assess his squad.

But assuming for the sake of argument he won't be back, and that Barcelona have been happy with the way the loan has gone, who would be a good loan from them next year? Either a youngster from Barca B or an underused player already in the senior squad.

Jean Dongou, he's just turned 19 and he seems like Bobby's kind of striker. Saying that, I've never seen him play, but he's big.
Only just turned 19 though, maybe next year if we can't do it this summer.
(Really though, how lucky we could be if we became a permanent outpost for Barcelona!)
