That's him.

Lukaku is the one, all out we must go.

Not for £25m ive just been reading about in the Daily Star! Decent player, great talent but we havent got £25m to be spending solely on one player.

And people will say he wont go for that but they bought him for £18m so will want to make a profit, and just look at de Bruyne, bought for £7m, sold for £18m! Chelsea drive an hard bargain.

If we only get to spend 25 million this summer then the pressure must intensify on the board this summer, like Martinez said we are +13m in transfers in his time and Kenwright promised him 'a few quid' to spend last summer which given our negative spend wasn't needed and then add to that this summers 'few quid' we should easily have 35 to spend.

I'd spend it.

Go for it, if we get an absolutely ace starting 11 we're more likely to hit CL than if we try to have a solid, but not great squad. We desperately need a striker and the lot across the park show how having great strikers can make up for weakness in the squad.

I'd rather get a top (or potentially top) forward than 2 solid forwards.

Why haven't we got £25M to spend on one player? Fellaini sold for £27.5M, that's without the money from Jelavic and Anichebe.

Not like he's 30, still only 20 and proven in the Prem, as exciting as it is bringing in someone from another league, there is the risk he won't perform...

I'd splash the cash for him myself, you have to pay that sort of money for a goal scorer..

Its "possible" we could find the 25m for Lukaku, but I doubt we would have the money to buy anybody else without sales, im pretty sure we need more than 1 player.

I suppose it matters whether we have CL or EL.

I wish it were anything other than extremely complicated tbh. We could have loads of money, we could have a pittance. Nobody knows untill we get to the summer.

In one post or other i laid out how we should 'in theory' have around the 32-37m mark as long as nones been siphoned off mate, IF we have that remains to be seen though. And that's not counting any increase due to TV money or European qualification etc.

We should without putting the club in financially a precarious position be able to spend in the region of 40m in the summer, 50+ if we qualified for the CL, we won't we all kind know that inside, but anything north of 30m would be a massive improvement and allow the purchase of Lukaku and a creative attacking mid

Like everything with us theirs a lot of mystery about exactly where money has gone in the past so until we spend what 'should' be their i will remain hopeful yet very sceptical.

We really need Lukaku permanently + one other striker (quality loan, younger player etc)
one permanent attacking mid (tadic etc) + one other (young cheap lid from spain like gil either perm or on loan etc)
Barry perm + 1 other cm (cover player like Cleverly or Colback - cheap fee only though)
1 step over king (delefeou or another barca lid on loan)

We should definitely look at Majeed Waris, awesome player and is apparently a fantastic personality(which Martinez has said is the most important thing about a new signing) according to his teammates and a few people I know played with him from his time in England. Anyone else see his interview on BT sport? Having already done business with Spartak could be good, but I reckon he'll have a boss world cup and they could end up asking something stupid for him as his contract is till 2017
