That's great news.
Hope it all goes down to the last day.
Great for the neutral to watch the drama unfold.

I said the other day, results around them are helping. They do have a bad habit of raising hopes and then crushing them the following week.

I am going to find a bet for them to stay up. I believe.

Nah, I'm about 95% resigned to our fate now. At this stage of the season, we need wins, draws just aren't enough as we're 4 points adrift now. Yesterday, was the first match in Months when I just tried to 'enjoy' the match, rather than suffer 90+ mins of heartache, agony, ecstasy and all the other emotions we as football fans have to endure when watching our team! Don't get me wrong, it's impossible for me not to still get that gut-wrenching feeling when the opposition scores, but I'm not going to obsess over the game like I normally do, analysing the table and working out who we need to lose etc. Sort of a pragmatic - 'Expect the worst and hope for the best' approach. I think we're down, I really do. Our must-must-must win volume 256 was against Bolton - That was our last hope realistically and we blew it.

Yesterday, pretty much sums up our season. Good in spells, showing we can score goals and attack with numbers, but ultimately, comical defending and amateur stuff at the back cost us. We're pretty much relying on outscoring our opposition, as defending is just a write-off. I honestly wonder what we're doing in training midweek, are we not doing attack v defence training games and highlighting problems? I say that because individually and collectively, defensive wise we're just utterly woeful. There's no leaders, (JOS is now utterly finished and has been for about 18 months) no coherence, no shape, no structure, there's spells where we try to sit-deep, then we play offside, I'm just watching thinking "what the [Poor language removed] is going on?" excuse my language.

I'm not normally a vocal person at the match, I just like to soak it in and keep my feelings to myself. But, Yesterday, I just lost my temper when that 3rd goal went in. I was so angry at the ease in which Middleborough were cutting through us, they weren't even good, there's much better sides than them (Fulham, Bristol City, Wolves, Leeds) and they could have scored 4/5 which sums up how utterly pathetic we are.

It's just Deja Vu watching us at home at times. Play decent for spells, concede, fall apart - Repeat.

Credit to the players for getting that late equaliser, least there's still a tiny bit of fight left in them. I just feel, it's far too little to late. Still plenty of points to play far but with us hemorrhaging goals I can see us finishing bottom and being relegated by April. It would need a monumental effort to save us, we'd need to suddenly stop leaking goals like we have and I just can't see it with the limited players we have at our disposal. Scoring goals isn't too much a problem, we can score, we just can't defend.

I hate slagging us off like this, I really want to praise the team I love, but I can't at present.

Acceptance is the first step...

What's the feeling towards Coleman?
He seemed to get the players motivated for Wales (even the english ones)
He knew what he was letting himself in for.
Is he there for the long haul?

That's a good question mate. Honestly? Right now, there is a lot of hostility aimed at Coleman which I think is harsh. Even on our main forum there is a huge thread calling for him to go. Personally, I think it's ridiculous.
It's a bit like handing a chef some crap, out-of date ingredients and asking him to make a 5* meal.

I do understand why people are getting annoyed with his total inability to organise our defence properly, I also find some of his substitutions odd too, then there's his blind loyalty to persist with Cattermole, when the entire world can see it isn't working. But, having said all of that, we can't keep on with this 'Hire them - Sack them' pattern which has been going on for years. In my opinion, we've got to stick with him and give him the chance to rebuild our entire structure, if it still isn't working after that - Yes, we'll have to look at other options.

There's so much wrong with Sunderland right now, our manager isn't the priority (can't believe I'm saying that - What a farce!) we need to sort out the owner & players. Fundamentally, Coleman has took over a sinking ship and to call for his head this early is daft. The damage was done to this club long before he walked through the door.

So, stick with him and let him implement his own team & changes is my view. But, with the circus that is 'Sunderland' logic doesn't seem to apply.
