Gibson needs professional support. This is nothing to be laughed at, especially not on this forum.

Mercifully no one was hurt and he gets the help he needs.

He's been given a ton of help for his drink problem and no doubt will get more. But this is about his pathetic obsession with driving home after a session on the lash. He's almost killed a cyclist, now he's smashed into a ton of parked cars driving at 60 in a housing estate. He's going to kill himself or others. No sympathy whatsoever for him and he should do time.

I have said before I like Sunderland, the fans I have met have always been good lads and its a club that should have been better than they have done, but at the minute its a team that looks in terminal decline, the players, the owner and even the supporters seem apathetic to whats happening, the 1st two you can kind of understand, players get paid no matter what, the owner has decided enough is enough but the fans I dont understand there seems to be no anger at all,its just turn up watch them go behind then leave
Can one of the Sunderland lads that come on here explain why thats so,there should be more anger rather than sitting in faded seats watching experienced players not even go through the motions

While I agree that he needs professional support, as I believe alcoholism is a disease, he equally needs to be held fully accountable for his actions.

Let's not beat around the bush, this is not the first instance of drink driving and he has the capability to easily afford a driver if it were necessary.

Yet, after the initial support given, which I know occurred, and his subsequent driving ban then he has again chosen to be drive while intoxicated.

I know a fair few people who could be labelled alcoholics, but to the man they're sensible enough to not drive - one does not excuse the other.

Obviously he'll be able to afford a top lawyer and it all depend on his evidential levels, but a repeat offender and in the day, I'd expect a custodial...

And rightfully so! Perhaps only then will he fully appreciate the impact of these and his earlier actions.

Geordies are utter savages. Also, Gibson should never drive again, the tit.

I hope Sunderland don't get relegated, poor things :(
We won't get out of this. Worst sunderland squad I have ever seen and by God I've seen some crap over the years.

Also, unless we get a new owner and some new ideas we haven't hit rock bottom just yet.
