We'd lose 0-0.

Playing Derby on Friday, can't see anything but a defeat, I was meant to be going too but got dropped in last minute. Just have to watch it on the Tele.
What are you making of Colemans stint in charge? The initial upswing seems to have vanished and the bits I have seen lately look like a team that have never played together before, also rumours of Quinn getting a consortium together isnt there?

I think the best way to answer your question is to go through the positives and negatives mate....

Positives

  • He says the right things and seems to have long-term plan/project which is promising to hear.
  • He's positive thinking, more than happy to throw caution to the wind and bring on a forward and gamble, aiming to win the game.
  • He's a genuine good bloke, I know this is more of a personal trait than a positive, but he's a very likeable guy, he seems to really connect with the fans and is realistic about our situation.
Negatives

  • He's fundamentally failed to improve us defensively. If anything, we're even worse than we were under Grayson. We're leaking goals at a ridiculous level. Our lack of defensive discipline and shape is pathetic.
  • His signings have failed to improve us - Let's be honest, they've been a total disaster.
  • His loyalty to Cattermole and John O'Shea is bordering on insanity, considering how poor they've been for so long.
  • Tactically, I'm not convinced he really knows what he's doing. We've got no coherence to our style of play. One week we're playing on the counter-attack, next week we're pressing teams, then we're sitting off for spells, it's a bit confusing and frustrating.
I wasn't expecting miracles, I'm disappointed in some of the stuff he's done (see above), but I'm also happy at some of the stuff I mentioned in the positives.

Let's be honest, Pep Guardiola couldn't do much better given our circumstances on and off the pitch. Regardless who come in, was always going to be an extremely tough job.

I still stay stick with him, let him implement his changes over the Summer, and we'll see what happens in league 1. He's got a monumental job rebuilding the club, got to give him a chance.

He may decide to walk himself, just have to wait and see.

Top bloke.
You deserve eachother, and I hope you go bust.

You could find negative stories with pretty much every manager mate. I'll counter-argue that with the following stories:

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/wales-boss-chris-coleman-hold-12061275

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...ch-chris-coleman-welcomed-sunderland-13927460

https://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/ne...ural-bradley-lowery-foundation-ball-1-9023969

etc...

I could list several more links, what he's done for charity and to raise awareness, that sort of thing. I also remember him doing a very important interview about mental health, telling footballers to get help etc.

If you listen to him talk about Gary Speed, he looks genuinely gutted to lose a friend. Also, done loads for charity, and takes a keen interest to speak to the Sunderland fans, rather than hide away. Of course, a lot of that will be 'for the cameras' but I've spoke to himself, I think he comes across as a very good bloke, clearly not flawless - as you've pointed about mate. You don't have to take my word for it, loads of football pundits/managers/ex players always hold him in high regards, countless interviews of people praising him for being a good man and good manager (Not overly convinced about the latter yet mind).

This all hypothetical of course, being a 'nice' person doesn't make you a good manager.

In regards to your last comment, fair enough, you're entitled to your opinion.

Vic Halom has joined the take over race for the Black Cats !
Not Vic Halom!

Runs to Google expecting to find a Singaporean billionaire and returns knowing it's an ex-Sunderland and Oldham player from yesteryear.

His wiki page goes on a lot about his managerial prowess and binning off expensive flops and then fighting relegation. Could be deja vu with Rodders.
