Sunderland afc

But could you ever live down playing for Sunderland?
Get to that beach. Grow a beard and never take off your sunglasses. Soon no one will recognise you.

One day you fall asleep on the beach behind a chair with vertical slats. Bam red sunburn stripes running up your front and they recognise you from your Sunderland days. Them the breaks.

You could find negative stories with pretty much every manager mate. I'll counter-argue that with the following stories:

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/wales-boss-chris-coleman-hold-12061275

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...ch-chris-coleman-welcomed-sunderland-13927460

https://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/ne...ural-bradley-lowery-foundation-ball-1-9023969

etc...

I could list several more links, what he's done for charity and to raise awareness, that sort of thing. I also remember him doing a very important interview about mental health, telling footballers to get help etc.

If you listen to him talk about Gary Speed, he looks genuinely gutted to lose a friend. Also, done loads for charity, and takes a keen interest to speak to the Sunderland fans, rather than hide away. Of course, a lot of that will be 'for the cameras' but I've spoke to himself, I think he comes across as a very good bloke, clearly not flawless - as you've pointed about mate. You don't have to take my word for it, loads of football pundits/managers/ex players always hold him in high regards, countless interviews of people praising him for being a good man and good manager (Not overly convinced about the latter yet mind).

This all hypothetical of course, being a 'nice' person doesn't make you a good manager.

In regards to your last comment, fair enough, you're entitled to your opinion.
Fair enough.

If you do go bust though, and I hope you do, are you still going to support a football team ?
If so, who do you fancy getting behind ?

I don't think it will happen mate - I really don't. But, I concede, I also told @orly we'd be fine and didn't think we'd go down so it's clear I can be wrong. There's promising rumors gathering pace about a takeover (involving Quinny), even if this particular takeover collapses, I'd think there will be more offers/takeover bids in the near future. Even though our debt is staggeringly high, clubs have been in much worse states and survived.

However, there's no doubt this is one of the lowest points in our clubs history. But, I highly doubt we'd go bust. It's a mad period for the club, one day there's internal leaks that the debt isn't as bad as we thought, and it's been blown out of proportion, then the next day there's internal leaks that the club are in deep trouble. At this point, you're not really sure what to believe and what to put down as BS.

Just got to wait and see, which in itself is frustrating. Hopefully, we can beat Derby on Friday, I doubt it'll make much difference to the overall season, but it'll be good just to go out and enjoy a few beers, see us win and give us a tiny, tiny bit of optimism for the future. In reality, I think Derby will be too strong and see a 2-0 defeat on the cards. I suppose the pressure is off now, hopefully the players can play with a bit of freedom.

Dry rot was very much in evidence, and then you called in a 'repair man' on 23rd July 2016.

The property has subsequently been condemned.

Really sad, and when last hear'ed of, the cowboy builder was ripping off other schmucks in East London.

A big day today @Safc-mark-91

If Barnsley win and Sunderland lose you woud have to say END OF ( @Joey66 ).

If there is any solace for Sunderland fans, Wolves had back-to-back relegations a few years ago didn't they? Now they look like they could comfortably be a mid-table PL side next season
