There is absolutely no balance between Heitinga and Arteta, neither of them really pass the half way line which is a shame when you consider the benefits Arteta can bring to this area of the pitch. Both midfields are cancelling each other out but they have the better strikers which will tell in the end unless we step it up.

Yakubu needs to come on too, the ball doesn't stick with Saha up there as a lone striker and it affects our whole balance and ability to move up in possession, stymieing Arteta's influence like I mentioned before.

And I'm exhausted from even trying to talk tactics.

The team is basically like this most of that 1st half....

Howard
Neville Jags Distin Baines
Coleman Heitinga Arteta Pienaar

Cahill

Saha

We're defending against their 4 midifelders and 2 attackers and they're hunting every ball down. We are plodding and being very slow having no space to pass and hoofing it to Cahill who's losing more than he's winning.

Saying that...Cahill, playing as the MAIN EFFIN STRIKER has been great. Pienaar and Baines opening them up and pointing out how bad they are at set pieces.

Bardsley has Coleman's number big time.

Arteta...what's up with him? Looks injured, slow, a bit all over the show. I think he and Heitinga need help in the middle of the park. But being as Cahill is the main striker today, we're a man down in the middle.

Reason being...Saha...FFS he's done nothing! We really need 5 in midfield today and its not happened.

Can see them doing us on the break 2nd half to be honest. Pull us in, then open us up.

Cahill has been great today. Can't remember seeing him play any better since Palace in 04-05. Hope it rubs off on the rest of the squad.

There's no one to pass to in the middle which is why Pienaar is coming more centrally, otherwise we hoof it

People need to concentrate on the players on the pitch and not my opinions.

Pienaar has been awesome, Baines looks class. Cahill getting involved. Saha not doing enough to justify his wages, same with Arteta.

ARRRGGGHHH!! Get over yourself.

We need the Yak on! We need to hold the bal up and get the central midfielders involved more.
