SuperLeague - guess who's back

The problem is the ESL scabs want the best of both worlds - they want their comp + a place in the domestic league.

Im desperate for them to leave and be told they aint returning.

Not arsed if the money and top players leave with them - give me competitive football anyday over the current circus.
Yep if this happened the difference in revenue between the the scab 6 and the rest would make the PL less competitive. They would finish ahead of us playing reserve teams

I think the way forward for the EPL is a footballing Brexit. EPL leaves European competition and we reform the premier league into a premier league 1 and 2 of 16 teams. The top leagues will have equal status a bit like the set up they have in the NFL. Each team will play each other twice so 32 games in total. The winning team of each league will be declared the champion. Then the post season starts. Top 8 from each league go into 4 groups of 4 based on ranking from finishing positions. Top 2 qualify from the group and then it is 2 legged knockout from the quarter final stage.

The Fa cup and league cup can both remain and international club games can be in this new FIFA club tournament

don't get me wrong. I'd have zero interest in it and think it's a terrible idea but millions would watch.
I agree, I think it'll be one massive cash cow. Global interest would be huge. You just have to look at the amount of people in the UK alone who buy sky sports packages.

I haven't watched a champions league match since I left my last house share three years ago. But they're not bothered by fans like you or me. We only make up a very small part of the market.

People were saying the World Cup would be a failure, but let's face it. It wasn't. The masses still watched in their billions.

Ban every team who joins it from playing in our league. Let them have it but they can leave us to our own league. I would be well chuffed if they did one and left us lot to enjoy the football.

I think it’s more likely to see teams walk away from the Prem than it is to see these banned.

The Prem is a huge money spinner, so why would they want their main assets out? They wouldn’t but I’d the remaining. 85-86 walked away, then they’d be done.

That would do me. 80 Odd of us walk away and start our own. Leave the greedy gits to rot.

It wouldn't tho.
It would be a closed house global football juggernaut with a massive global audience.
Look at the NFL. The same teams each season, 16 regular season games then playoffs. Viewing figures are still huge.
It would feel fake and might make the domestic league more competitive and even better but if they get this started, it definitely wont die.
That is a possibility, but the NFL has salary caps, drafts etc which means each season the weak get stronger and the strong get weaker. An even competative league makes for ongoing interest and huge viewing figures

I don't think that is the model the uber rich have in mind

But isn't that what we have now?

I'm desperate for the super league to really happen. The scab six going their own way and a total fincial collapse is the only way well ever see football returning to something like what it used to be. It would be a rough few years for the rest of us, no doubt about it, but the new league would be stronger, fairer and better for it. With loyal fans still going the match to watch their teams for a far more reasonable price

Meanwhile after a few years of love-ins the "super league" would totally collapse. The novelty of seeing Man Utd Vs Real Madrid and Barcelona Vs the RS would soon wear off for even the glory hunting day trippers once its no longer an event and the thought of paying £80 to £100 for a single game of footie stops sounding like fun. They won't even be able to brag and glot at their friends/work colleges anymore because nobody would care what fans of scab clubs in a different league have to say.

The "super league" would 100% collapse in a decade or less once the bubble bursts.
The intention is for the clubs to carry on playing in their own country's league as well, so it solves nothing.

They'll get their way guaranteed.
Sadly the rest are just too scared to rock the boat. They should have been dragged over the coals last time, but they got away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Football has eaten itself to death.
