They'll get their way guaranteed.
Sadly the rest are just too scared to rock the boat. They should have been dragged over the coals last time, but they got away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Football has eaten itself to death.
Uefa could have stopped it back in the 90s when they were pressured into group stages, seeding, runners up entering etc.

Unfortunately Uefa are just as greedy as the clubs

Lovely to hear all the whinging about America when it's mostly the money laundering nation states and super shady secret loan from national banks debt up to their eyeballs clubs leading the charge here.

Let them go.

Don't worry about the league folding, the money won't be the same, but the competition will.

League 1 and 2 still manage to play each week.

Yep if this happened the difference in revenue between the the scab 6 and the rest would make the PL less competitive. They would finish ahead of us playing reserve teams

I think the way forward for the EPL is a footballing Brexit. EPL leaves European competition and we reform the premier league into a premier league 1 and 2 of 16 teams. The top leagues will have equal status a bit like the set up they have in the NFL. Each team will play each other twice so 32 games in total. The winning team of each league will be declared the champion. Then the post season starts. Top 8 from each league go into 4 groups of 4 based on ranking from finishing positions. Top 2 qualify from the group and then it is 2 legged knockout from the quarter final stage.

The Fa cup and league cup can both remain and international club games can be in this new FIFA club tournament

Invite Rangers and Celtic to join

Thats an interesting idea, but I cant see it happening,

I honestly see this, when it happens, being a success for about 2-5 years. Then the novelty of exactly 5 teams competing for everything wearing off and people being very 'meh' towards another Barca/City - Real/Bayern finalist lol

Leagues are literally the same teams playing each other every year and it’s usually only a very small number of clubs who compete for the title. The Champions League has been the same clubs for pretty much 30 years. Why would it not work for a Super League?

Because it's a preset of 5 games that are hyped up and happen once a season (for CL), twice if the stars align.

And leagues are only 5-6 teams competing for the title, yes, but there's also 12-14 others competing for european spots, domestic cups, striving to avoid relegation, fans of all teams actually go to games etc.

The hype of City vs Real is gonna be great the first few times, then what? Do you think either Real or City fans will go to the opposite country every week or so lol

Also the 2x10 NBA way to play is bizarre in football.

I hope they sod off the greedy gets, our league will then become a lot more competitive. These teams that all win the CL, the same handful of clubs, have monolpolised European football and put it on its arse.

let them go in their little super league where there's no relegation.

There hasn't been a single proposal drawn up where they leave their domestic leagues. If there's ever an offer from a TV company that entices these clubs to stop playing league fixtures I'll be delighted. Until then it's a "cake and eat it" situation.

Surely they'd have to leave though, oh who am I kidding like they won't get what they want in the end.

Would bringing in a European wide salary cap help level the playing field and therefore naturally increase the competition across all leagues?
