Surviving Gazza...

Stop getting furious the lot of you ffs.

Sorry cal mate, look back at all of my posts and you'll never see an angry post from me but when people start picking holes in your English instead of constructing an argument it just annoyed me

nery harsh that cal, if the programme did anything it revealed what his family have been and still are being put through, the eldest lad tbh as it howed has had to move on with his life or quite simply it would be too late and he wouldnt have one, they cant wipe his arse forever. good on the youngest as well for saying i dont want him here full time if this is what it's like, seemed very grown up for his age, certainly showed more maturity than his arl fella. i feel for gazza i do but after that prog i cant help feeling more for his family.

wonder why that was, parroting his mother no doubt!

I know exactly what I mean and i'm sure everybody else did as well. Pedantic little scrote. Just because you disagree with someones views there's no need to start picking little holes in their English

Either way it's quite sad that you can't construct an argument and have to resort to such tactics

I bet whatever little country you crawled out from has never produced a footballer of Gazza's ability

Do you always resort to swearing at board members, insulting their families and making vague racial slurs when someone disagrees with you? Or is it just because I've dared to suggest that Paul Gascoigne wasn't actually that great?

Just curious like, because no one else seems to be doing it when I disagree with them.

He was incredible on the ball, which is why I believe the tag "genius" is warranted. His lack of intelligence perhaps did hamper his ability to read the game. Similarly, his tendency to idiotic behaviour on and off the field didn't help him realise his vast potential. But nonetheless there was something in him that set him apart from other people. Gazza belongs to that rare group of British footballers that could make you sit up, watch and enjoy the beautiful game.

I'd agree with that. (y) But I'm not sure whether that type of player has vast unrealısed potential so much as the rare ability to just pull something magical out of a hat every once in a while. Something they can do occasionally but not on demand.

Haven't watched Rooney in a long time but from reports I've read it seems he's managed to make the transition from *that*, into a markedly less magical but more consistant performer, albeit still at a high level.

I don't think saying you're family doesn't possess Gazza's talent is insulting, I could say that about anyone, including myself

And I didn't say it because you disagreed with me, I said it because the only comeback to my previous post you came up with was to criticise my grammar

Name one player to come from Turkey that has ever been anywhere near Gazza's level. To criticise the man I would have to agree but to criticise the mans talent I can't and never will agree. I'm proud of the fact that Gazza played for Everton, albeit when his star was fading

You say all he is remembered for is crying. I say watch the F.A cup semi final goal against Arsenal or the Euro '96 goal against Scotland or the rest of the World Cup semi final against Germany. Even after he knew he was out for the final he picked himself up and dominated the rest of the game, nearly winning it for us. Thats just a few of many examples off the top of my head

When I post on a Turkish forum criticising one of your national heroes then I would expect to be criticised

Why bring race and nationality into a debate about a retired footballer turned alcoholic?

I mean, what is your problem????

Because you don't understand what he did for this country, if you were English you would. Football entered the realms of super stardom in England as a direct result of our performance in Italia '90, largely due to Gazza's performances and thats a fact

Blimey, that's told me.

Remind me, what did happen in Italia 90, did england win something?

And perhaps you could explain what :

Football entered the realms of super stardom in England as a direct result of our performance in Italia '90,

means.

I'm afraid my poor inadequate grasp of English has me thinking that *people* can enter the realm of super stardom, but it's a bit difficult for none concrete nouns such as *football*.

Remind me how many World Cups you have won again?

The team's highest achievement was reaching 3rd place at the 2002 FIFA World Cup

Also I didn't know you had to have a degree in English to post on a football forum.

I meant that football reached fever pitch in this country and it was the start of a new era in English football

Again the only come back you are capable of is to nitpick someones grammar, rather childish really isn't it?

Again a churlish response, I was, of course, referring to your country of origin as you deemed fit to pose the question
I was enquiring what silverware dons the trophy cabinet of you're F.A

This is hilarious. I wonder how long I can keep him going.

Dear Mr Fawlty,

Please note I am not an 'F.A' and the 2nd person possessive pronoun is 'your'.

Also the verb 'to don' means 'to wear', and while the image of siverware attempting to 'wear' a trophy cabinet is one worthy of Andre Breton's surrealist classic 'Soluble Fish', it's perhaps a little out of place here.

Full marks for trying though.

Thank you

A N Englishman

ps if ever meet anyone from Merseyside ask them if they can work out what 'Robin Sisland' refers to.

ps (B) if ever meet anyone from Merseyside ask them if they can work out what 'Robin Sisland' refers to.

A. Please note that the post was already updated to include the correct "possesive pronoun" before you again chose to nitpick my grammar

B. Is that correct English?
