You have a vivid imagination , probably to fuel an agenda. Howard did not pass to the opposition once in the game..he was actually rolling the ball out to an Everton player quite often. For a lot of the time now we are not passing around in front of the opposition without purpose.Lennons goal and a few other good chances were the result of positive playing through the opposition. If you're sick of it, I suggest youre just generally sick of everything. Take a holiday.

I will admit my post was written with frustration and was a little out of order especially the bad language. We went through a 10 minute spell, just before the penalty wher we were passing back to howard who was kicking it long and we were inviting pressure. I have no adgenda but thanks for the advice doctor wigan.

Why does it take so long for us to make a sub? I've seen lads like Gibson stand on the touchline for a good 5 minutes this season while we mess about doing whatever Martinez needs to do before making a change. Leaving Kone on today for so long after him walking a tightrope was ridiculous. It's not like he was having a stormer. Martinez has gone from one of the most pro-active managers in making a change to making Moyes look like a gambler.

Happy with the point today. Stupid of Coleman like but when someones grabbing your arm and then pushes you in the back, you probably expect a free kick. Especially when 5 minutes later the exact same thing happens to Baines and Oliver gives a free kick.

I agree with some of your post in that Martinez is waiting too long to make a sub. I thought Mirallas needed to come on at about 70-75. However the Kone left on for too long (leading to a penalty) is not a valid point. Naismiths was warming up immediately there were 3 sub opps all inside of 4 minutes from the foul. After that there were no stoppages for 3+ minutes to the penalty.

I am pleased for those who are pleased. I am not pleased.
The view a couple of weeks ago that even IF we could go the rest of the season unbeaten, it has still been a bad season.

So all this 'a good point' is meaningless for me. It is a bad season. (Based on last season with a very similar squad, some of whom apparently forgot how to play in the summer)

More than anything I would like to see:
An improvement in the standard of our play, that wins games as well.
Players playing for new contracts, instead of treading water.
One or two of the fringe kids given games. There is nothing to play for this season, let us see what they can do.
Use these last few games as preparation for August and start to relax and play without fear.

Win, lose or draw, what we are watching is turgid.

The manager needs to make a public statement to the fans acknowledging the failings this season and pledge that he will fix it ready for next season. Something positive to hang on to. Just an opinion. ;)

Ive seen a lot of what you would term turgid performances over many years as a Blue. Todays wasn't....and that's what were talking about today, the match, not a premature season retrospective. Its all about opinion though with respect. It was a marked improvement on that of late...the passing was crisper and more to the point players were retaining the ball with more diligence. Barry was a great anchor today in midfield and got through a lot of work with his awareness making up for any lack of pace. Jags and Stones were good together too. Pienaar was a welcome addition though its a wonder he had any legs left given the hacking they got. There were bad points....Kone...the late show of Mirallas...the dead balls from Baines being wasted.....the Fred Karno pen. Your points in bold echo what we all want I guess...but I don't really think we need RM to wear a hairshirt in the press to let us know he needs to improve. Hopefully this poor season will have been enough to let him know that, regardless of the enthusiastic front he puts on in his face-to-face interviews.

In reality mate that core has been there from the off. Moyes' apostles who could never get used to the idea the hoofball they've been weaned on has been dispensed with.

That core made their feelings known even before Kenwright secured Martinez's signature.

I was a fan of Moyes, but the time was right for all parties to go their separate ways.
I had RM as my first choice as I knew he would try and get us playing a more expansive style of play.
I have been the first one to say he has made errors this season, and he needs learn from them.
What makes me laugh with some people is you would think we were a club in the same bracket as The top 4. Also for some reason we have people now who believe we should win every game we play against teams outside the top 4 . Moyes left at best a stable squad who were built to finish between 5th & 8th each season, they're were not built to challenge the top 4 and we never had the mentality to win cups. In RM he has an approach that with a bit of luck we may win something, but to finish in the top 4 maybe a step to far for him.
There needs a major reality check from some people.....

A fair result in the end, imo. My motm was Stones, although Jags had another good one, and Barry answered his critics with a good performance. Some nice moves from Barkley, but he makes a lot of poor decisions and still has a lot to learn. Kone could easily have walked, and contributed very little else apart from one decent shot. I thought their disallowed goal was a harsh decision, so overall I'm happy with the point. Still a lot of sloppy work in defence, but overall most of the lads put a decent shift in.

Agree with everything there except that bit in bold.

Expectations went up when we shelled out 28mil on Lukaku.

Whys that mate? I know we have had a horror show at times this season, but he has actually won something. We were dead unlucky to lose to West Ham (FAC), and Kiev, well, the less said about that one the better. But in the EL we were mainly ace.

Thought we looked good today. Not for 90 minutes though.

I do think a top 4 is possible with RM but almost everything has to go right. Last year is a perfect example. Record points total and would have been top 4 all but one other year in the premier league era. Yet still didn't make a top 4. So I take the optimists view last year kind of proves RM can get us there. I don't think Moyes sniffed a top 4 after City got oil money. That is not a dig at Moyes he was a good manager that left at the right time or a couple years late depending on your POV. But there does need to be some realism given our funding about what Everton can do consistently. This season has been disappointing though and would not dispute that.

The one thing I think is now clear and I didn't see it during the dreadful December/January but having someone like a Pinnear/Osman is essential. I thinks RM uses them similarly and our bad patch coincided with having neither which he didn't anticipate. Both are good in tight spaces and retain possession. I like Pinnear more in that he gives Everton more width. Osman works better behind a striker or top 2. I think we need an improved version next year to be really successful.

I just don't think we'll win anything anytime soon.

Not just Martinez' fault either. We won't win a thing with the individual errors we make.

Take the FA Cup. Seems winnable. But we'd need 7/8 games with no errors in to win it. Just can't see it. We can barely go 45 minutes without one.

I really think we are in an average state.
