Portsmouth have not included Sylvain Distin in their squad to face League Two Hereford, although they say that's because he's injured not because he's after a move to Everton or Villa.

Why on earth do we want to sign a defender who is 33 years old soon.
It's not exactly planning for the future.

If Moyes doesn't spend the money wisely on someone that we can get 5 years on plus a resale value than he needs a reality check.
Distin is a good player, but unless he's free, or rediculously cheap, I don't see the point.

Probably because he's cheap, wants to leave his club and we are desperate to get someone in quickly with only 5-6 days remaining. Alot of these young centre backs will cost 10 million plus.

Also because Moyes realizes that Yobo needs an experienced head alongside him, someone who's going to come in and do a job straight away.

And he's 31...
