Terrible Miscasting

He is one of the most overrated actors of our generation imo. Struggling to think of anyone else that comes close. Was good in Requiem and when he was getting hacked to bits by Bale in American Psycho, but I've not seen him be good in anything else since

What is certain is that he was charismatic and able to connect with his men in a very profound way, miles away from the weirdo Phoenix is portraying in those clips. I'll still go to see it like, just can't stand him tbh

I like him as an actor, but he was just the wrong actor for the lead in this.

It didn’t help that they bottled the book, so it’s get a 15 rating, rather than the 18 it would‘ve got if they’d stayed true to the book.

Love the book and the film. I think he was cast great to be honest.

Nah, Joaquin Phoenix is a superb actor.

I used to be there.

But he's a terrible try-hard.

Acts scenes so hard I bet he sobs himself to sleep every night. Poor, tortured soul.
