No doubt if the media get wind of this they'll be onto it as it happens.

they mentioned it on NBC over here during halftime, just don't think plane banners are effective either way

Now bear in mind Danny's staunch stance on GOT never, ever, being anything other a truly independent site, as in NO affiliation with the club, plus the ability of him, and other mods have, in sniffing out trolls/wum/etc, (not me btw), plus the fact that the OP was Danny, I would take that as it being a genuine blue.

Now he/she might be on a wind up. Dunno. But I very, very much doubt that it would have been posted if it was.

Was the feller pushed on his identity? I'm not saying for a minute that it should be revealed btw if he'd like that to remain anonymous. It's just that it's a bit naive to go for this level of publicity over a controversial stunt and to court that many news agencies to get the story out there and to believe it'd be left alone. It's not like us on here who post in anonymity. This feller has gone for broke and in a very public way.

Under those circumstances the motive is very much under scrutiny.

It's apples and pears. I and everyone else post here and choose to remain anonymous. It's a members forum and that's the way it should be. I have an opinion and that's it. I dont seek to become a public figure. Whomever this is, does. But they want to have their cake and eat it too: big public splash and profile and remain anonymous. That's fine. I respect it. But my point is a simple one: do that and the conjecture about who it could be and what other motives there might be will run riot.

Nonsense.

I run Everton's biggest fan site, and expect my personal identity to be relatively anonymous - am I naive?

Your also saying the fan has courted news agencies - your doing your usual and presenting your option as fact. You don't know he courted news agencies - I very much doubt he did. If he did, I wouldn't have had four/five media agencies contact me this morning asking for additional detail.



A keyword alert (day job) flagged up the obscure link, I monitored - saw it hit target - I stuck it on GOT and it flew from there.

The lad is just a Blue, who felt the protests against the board weren't representative of the entire fan base and tried to do something to show that...

Your opinion, but clearly - there's a considerable amount of fans who want to show their support - just look at the donations, and social response.

To suggest it's a wind up/piss take/kopite is poor deflection tactics from a kick in the backside to your agenda.
 
Thing is i cant see why anyone who thought the early season planes were a good idea cant also see this one is just as valid, opinion might be different but they are just as entitled to do it, there are people on either side of the fence. Is the next plane a reaction to those planes perhaps, just as good/bad as the other planes, just as much a waste of money, just as much of a good idea, equally as much wool.
