Listening to BBC Radio Merseyside this morning - the female sports reporter doing the news criticised the idea, said she thought there were better ways to show support.

And I agree.

If people think the 'haters' are in the minority, why not have the courage of their convictions and ask everyone at the next home game to give a minutes applause at a designated minute during the game, in support & thanks to Kenwright?

Would be a much better barometer, to see how many clapped.

Yeah, it's very counter productive. Not to mention old hat. And it must make Everton look like Monty Python's flying circus to the rest of the country.

It's best if this ill-timed idea is binned and the Villa fly over cancelled - all cash thus far raised sent to EitC.

I actually think the hullaballoo over it isn't going to provide welcome attention for BK in his circumstances.

It's only a matter of time before this escalates.

I held that view - but take a step back.

What are we now talking about?
What was that female (actually, why mention female?) sports reporter on the radio talking about?

Over 1m people, easy, will have seen the news regarding a pro Bill Kenwright message. 2 weeks before it happens.

How much was the plane? £600/700?

A lot of money, but there's not many things you can do for that amount to get your message out that wide is there?

[Edit] I also suspect the plane method is a direct response to the previous planes - "You don't speak for me/all of us" type.

It would be lame for the club to come out and ask for the crowd to cheer for Kenwright. Appreciation like this has to be done by the fans, for the fans.

Why do people choose to support a board that operates at the long term expense of the club, rather than supporting the club itself ? Some sort of peculiar British serf lickspittle mentality ?.........they are the owners, the employers, entrepreneurs..........ergo they are apparently superior/know better and we should defer to/support their long term goal of profiteering out of a cheap share purchase.

Doing that in the privacy of your own home is one thing, but why rent a plane to advertise your stupidity ?

I blame The Apprentice.

On what planet is 447 of about 580 a minority if the result was the opposite would you question the post? Or do you have a minimum amount of fans that need to be asked for it to be fair? If so how many? and is it just a coincidence that the ONLY 447 who want him gone post on here?

Planet Earth. Everton have an average attendance around 38,000 and god knows how many around the country. This poll is like going to an EDL meeting and taking a straw poll that says all Englishmen are racists.
