Oh I agree. I feel the anti-board movement often shoots itself in it's own feet. The problems are there to see, but too often they get muddled with conspiracies, personal attacks, and unfounded accusations.
That said, we cannot be content with mere 'improvement from the 90's'. If we're happy being also-rans, why even play the matches?
The message of the flyer is good, but I agree that the presentation is lacking, and you're dead right that if it was Liverpool
@davek would be having an absolute field day.
We need investment. That's the simple truth. We will never progress and will inevitably fall behind without it. This board does not offer it. I fail to see why we should applaud a board for what is - in truth - failure to win anything.
Can't argue with that, problem is, there are positives that are a bi-product of how we have been run compared to others, that people fail to acknowledge. Its a very biased, one way view of Kenwright that emanates from the internet, not replicated within the stands.
In fact compared to most owners, he's actually done a good job of improving us where it counts, and a lack of investment has been overshadowed by the right choice of managers. This is the biggest problem when it comes to convincing the Everton fans that havn't looked further into how we are run to actually do so. Why bother.. ?
We were abysmal, now we are actually quite good, the future looks like we may be even better with the TV money, and because of it, we are now financially viable and buying 28m strikers..
Those that do bother to look though, then have to filter through the outrage of Bill buying his wife a neckless at a charity, or deliberately lowering Pienaars wage offer so he leaves on a free, or people ranting about Lawnmowers, like some sort of dim witted 80's Virtual Reality based film character, and all the other bs that people come up with.. to eventually come across the grey areas that matter, unfortunately, they are grey areas pigeonholed into black and white answers filled with half truths and just plain sarcasm and often you get grief for even asking.
Imagine getting through all the above obstacles, to the point you actually still want to find out about say.. DK.. then get met by some of the people on here and the responses they give if you don't utterly despise the man or understand the most intricate of details about an event.. You have to question why they would bother sticking around to find out.
And that is also why I said I liked the flyer, it gets rid of the need for most of the above, its still only half the story, but it tells that half.. Just can't for the life of me understand why they would go with that title lol
At least now people can come on to here, or the BU site or wherever and say, i'm reading this flyer, can someone fill me in on what happened with Kings Dock. And with the knowledge they are trying to learn instead of stir things up, I think this place would suddenly become quite helpful.
