Was something else in that ground today, proud to be blue
Fantastic.

My brother was diagnosed with cancer in June of last year. He started chemo and was home all the time resting, so I started getting him involved in following the Toffees. I stated to regret it, like this poor [Poor language removed] is vomiting and his hair is falling out and now I’ve subjected him to following this miserable relegation side and watching them sleepwalk through a beat down every week with this miserable [Poor language removed] coach. Well, he’s gone back to work, his hair has grown back, he looks better than he did beforehand, he’s healthy, and he has an Everton scarf hanging over his TV with the Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Steelers swag (which puzzles his friends, wtf is this?) He lives a few hours away, we were FaceTiming during the second half, we watched Richy pick Azpi’s pocket and slot it home, pick up the flare and heave it, Pickford flying across goal like Superman, then back again to block with his face from two yards away, Mina dominating in front of goal and winding them up, everyone pressing and fighting for second balls like their lives depended on it, and above all the crowd a foot away from the action going mental, bear pit, champions of Europe wilting under the barrage, peach sweater guy make a fetus out of the ball to run down the clock (one of youze I hope) and I said - this is what I fell in love with, tuning in out of curiosity to watch this team with a couple Yanks on it, in a sport I little understood at the time, bottle feeding my baby daughter at 7 am on weekends while my wife slept- and I started caring about it more than the teams in the American sports I grew up with-

and he was like, you don’t have to tell me, I get it now.

This is what it’s all about - no matter what we’re going through or have gone through we all come together because of this club and have special days like today. Wish your brother a long happy life and hope you guys get to come over and see the old lady for yourselves before she’s retired for the docks!

It's a shame it takes this situation to bring everyone together..... adversity and all that. But look what can happen when we all pull in the same direction. Perhaps, it's a wake up call for us all to not be so entitled and that staying up is important! Let's not kid ourselves that relegation would be beneficial... I want us to stay up.

We're not there yet. But, together, it can be done. Leicester game will tell us more.

This is true, Everton should always have our 100 % passionate support, let's hope next season we can do better, all of us.

We as fans need to keep at it, even thought its Palace & Brentford, they get the same treatment Chelsea did! Fireworks the night before, the lot - then we greet the team the same exact way we did yesterday!

UP THE TOFFEES
Brentford and Palace platers won't gave the same mental strength as the Chelsea players who are used to the champions league...etc given them same treatment they should both fold up

So glad to hear that your brother continues to improve and wish him well for the future.
What a fantastic post BTW.
It is sometimes difficult for those of us who are lucky enough to be able to attend games to fully understand how somebody who lives thousands of miles away can become just as emotionally involved.
Kudos to both you and your brother. Keep on flying the flag for the blues ;)
I hope you BOTH get to Goodison next season.

I'm not crazy about blue smoke all over the place but I suppose if others do it why not us?
The atmosphere in the stadium was the main thing and the sustained backing throughout the match is so vital.
