Absolutely dreadful. You see the progress that is being made with the Women's Team and moving into a new stadium at WHP and to have it tarnished like that. Hopefully some CTTV will catch the rats that done it like
Think the sports centre next to it has CCTV, if it was on facing that direction, or even working, not sure if the actual ground has any

This is the side were com etc stand

A blaze which engulfed a stand at the home stadium of Everton women's football team tonight started deliberately.

Fire crews were called to reports of a blaze at Walton Hall Park, where the stadium is based, at 6.23pm.

Two engines raced to the scene where a football stand, scaffolding and plastic netting were on fire sending thick plumes of black smoke into the air.

One of the crews stayed to tackle the blaze which was fully put out by 18.57pm.

Investigations showed that the fire had been started deliberately.

The extent of the damage to the stand and to the stadium is not yet known.

Everton women only moved into their new home at Walton Hall Park in February 2020.

Plans for the stadium, which is about a mile away from Goodison Park, were to increase its capacity to 2,200 seats after renovation work was finished.

I suppose it was Chelsea again

If I'm honest I dont follow the woman's game all that much, but I'm shocked at this event. Truly shocking which will undoubtedly have a profound effect on them.

Everton and England goalkeeper Sandy MacIver has committed her future to the Blues, signing a new two-year contract until the end of June 2023.

MacIver – who honed her skills in Everton’s youth system as a youngster – rejoined the Club in January 2020 after three seasons with Clemson Tigers in the United States.

The 22-year-old has excelled since her Everton return, establishing herself as one of the pre-eminent goalkeepers in the Women’s Super League and breaking into the England squad.

She helped Everton reach the 2020 FA Cup final and, while the Toffees were edged out after extra-time by Manchester City, her exceptional performance was recognised with the Player of the Match award.

MacIver made her first senior England appearance in last month’s 6-0 friendly victory over Northern Ireland.

She explained how moving to Everton and working with boss Willie Kirk has been central to her development – and outlined her Club and international ambitions.

“I’m really excited to sign this contract and be at Everton for another two years,” MacIver told evertonfc.com. “Willie has made it clear of his intent with the players he’s brought in.

“Willie signing his new contract at the end of last year was a real statement, too, and shows his belief in where the Club is going. That was another big reason for me wanting to stay.

“Being at Everton has been pivotal in my progression over the past year. Working with the coaching staff and a goalkeeper like Tinny [Korpela] – we push each other every day in training – has helped me so much.

“The Champions League is where we want to be. I really believe the foundations are in place to do that. I don’t see why we can’t break into that top three or four in the WSL and cement ourselves as a top side in Europe.

“On a personal level, the ultimate goal is to be England’s No. 1. I really believe being an Everton player can help me achieve that.”

Kirk has spoken of his belief MacIver can become “the best goalkeeper in the world”.

The Everton manager added: "I've been very vocal with my praise and support of Sandy this season, so needless to say I’m delighted she has committed her future to Everton.

“Being a young goalkeeper, she still has lots of development to go through. In Ian McCaldon, I believe she has the best goalkeeping coach to maximise that development and help her reach her undoubted potential.

“She is very much a modern goalkeeper, in terms of her physique, speed and distribution skills – and over the coming years she will gain crucial experience which will aid her decision-making.

“She's had a very good season so far, with the highlights being her Player of the Match award in the FA Cup final and recently winning her first senior England cap.

“She has a big future, and I'm excited to see just how good she can become."

Good news that.

Willie Kirk on WHP fire
A lot of work has gone into WHP. It's something we see as not just for us but a community thing. It's disappointing that people would target it as something to try to destroy." Says Chelsea game will "go ahead without any issues

Willie Kirk on damage caused by the fire
The temporary scaffolding which makes up the TV gantry has been taken down & a new one put up. There is a cost involved in that & time.
Club have moved swiftly to make sure it's safe." Also says the dugout "looks burnt & melted

For all the advancements in the women’s game the keepers are not getting even remotely close to useful. So confusing.
There was an article about this on bbc I think a while ago. Basically with the amount of money in the game, even up to the last couple of seasons they couldn't afford separate goalkeeping coaches, so they've only recently really had specialised training for them, and they're effectively years behind (they said 10 in the article I think) outfield players in terms of coaching and development.

WEDNESDAY 17TH MARCH 7PM KO
WOMENS SUPER LEAGUE
EVERTON WOMEN 0 CHELSEA WOMEN 3

Everton women after a brilliant 4-0 away win last week at Birmingham were tonight playing their 1st home game in 4 WSL Matches and oddly that last home game was also v Birmingham in early Feb, and it could come no harder than the Current WSL champions and double Winner's Chelsea who have an incredible away WSL record of 36 games Unbeaten with 24 wins and 12 draws since defeat to Man City in May 2017 or 1 defeat all comps in their last 23 games, Everton women off course knocked Chelsea women out of the FA CUP at Goodison Park in September were chelsea after an early goal could have been 3 or 4 up before the fight back began, while Everton have no league win v chelsea since a 3-2 win in september 2013, but again whatever the result tonight Everton would stay 5th

Everton once again made 5 change's from the Birmingham game with MacIver Injured with Concussion, Pattinson, Clemaron, Lehmann, & Gauvin droping to the bench, In Came Korpela, George, Graham, Magill, and Sorensen. with Wold a surprise on the bench as she was expected to be out for a little bit of time

And it could have been a costly start for the Toffee's when Captain Lucy Graham was adjudged to have handled the ball that was hit right at her from no distance in the 1st Minute, but Korpela in for the Injured MacIver saved her 2nd pen of the season as she dived to her right to produce an excellent save from Melanie Leupolz, this was her 2nd pen save in a row and also her 2nd home game in a row saving a pen [other v Birmingham], but Chelsea did take the lead on 13mins after been the better team when Kirby was sent through by Sam Kerr with a great through pass and the England international made no mistake, slotting the ball into the bottom right hand corner, Chelsea were so far on top and again it should have been 2-0 on 26mins but Korpela pulled off a point blank sensational save from Pernille Harder of Chelsea, Chelsea thought it was 2-0 on 29mins when they scored but Pernille Harder was offside after she touched a Millie Bright angled shot, again it seemed a matter of time before Chelsea would get a 2nd - And once again on 41mins after another Chelsea attack, They hit the top of the bar when Erin Cuthbert picked up a loose ball in midfield, charged forward and unleashed a powerful shot, Everton had their 1st real little chance on 43mins when Izzy christiansen shot well wide under pressure but Chelsea were so far on top the whole half that Everton did well to only be 1 behind at Half Time

The 2nd half began with no Changes for Everton and Everton were nearly back on level terms on 47mins when a curler from Claire Emslie looked like it was going top corner but the Chelsea keeper Berger made an excellent save when she was just about able to stretch with her right hand to save, which was by far Everton's best and only chance at goal, On 54mins a Claire Emslie cross was headed by Lucy Graham, but it was not the best of connections and easy for the keeper, But Chelsea did get that 2nd that looked like comming so much the 1st half on 60mins when Sam Kerr got away down the right. She fired in a brilliant ball to Fran Kirby, who steadies herself before beating the final defender. She could shoot but instead she tees up Harder who has a simple finish beating the keeper through her legs, Gauvin had a header that landed just over after she mistimed a header on 67mins, it was 3-0 on 79mins when a simple 1st time cross was left by the Everton defence with harder heading a bouncing ball which the keeper half saved but it felt for the tap in for Leupolz, Chelsea all in all bar a little period at the start of the 2nd half were by far the better team and deserved the win, The next Everton game is away to a Brighton team one place behind Everton in 6th a week sunday with a 12.30 ko, They could have their 4 win in a row later tonight

Watched the game, What a terrible Everton defence, slow and all over the place. The goalie did well with the penalty and then gifted Chelsea 2 goals. Chelsea have a hoodoo on us men and women.
