Very much this. I'd throw in Clarke as probably the only three World Class players out there which shows how far we've fallen.

England have improved, but are your players really any better than the previous bunch? I'd say not really, it was just that us Aussies had bred the best team to ever play bar the 70's/80's Windies sides.

I've always loved Australians, especially to fight and never say die. Alas, the current generation is not a patch on the last. I fear for their sporting future........
 

missed yesterday's play so didn't realise bresnan was used as a night watchmen. we must have some sort of record under cook for using them, why though? if our no.4/5 batsmen can't bat out one or two overs then they shouldn't be playing test match cricket. The only time it has worked was alex tudor back yesteryear and when finn got that 50. never will be a fan

haha beat me too it. was looking at his age the other day after he ripped glammy a new one. Only 24, could he be a future test spinner fox after swann? seems to get wickets but i don't really watch too much live county cricket
 
i would have enforced the follow-on tbh. I know you don't want to be chasing on 4th 5th day, but it wouldn't have got that far. even if aussies made england bat again, it wouldn't be a total above 3 figures i doubt. bowlers been out there less than a day so wouldn't have been tired, aussies on a downer, could have had THEM 3 down at stumps yesterday - would have been all over bar the shouting. Instead we'll probably rack up a stupid lead like 600 if they don't get us out, playing the cautious approach first. luckily there's so much time left in the game

giving them a bit of a confidence boost after last night - we're just lucky that aus have never been able to take the game by the scruff of the neck when on top.

Well they were the best ever. The best ever team in the History of Cricket. They were Brazil '70. Bulls '91-'98. Yankees '47-'62. The St George Dragons '56-'66. The Celtics '84-'86. The Cincinnati Reds of '75-'76. The '85 Lakers. The 2007 Patriots. United of '99. Everton circa 1985.

You can't replace that in one generation.

A little quiet in here today too BTW
