good to get 2 wickets but aus scoring pretty quickly

it's going to happen when england are bowling at the stumps ball by ball though. It's a completely different game to aussies bowling outside off waiting for the england batsmen to throw their wicket away, because they know that's all they have to do atm.

That is what what gets me with the batters. Why do they fairy tap at wide deliverires? Idiots.

too much one-day cricket, all of our batting line-up play/have played for the ODI team. Noticed how cook and trott's big scores are very rare now they've been a permanant fixture in that team

the thing i want to know is, if it was hitting instead of umpires call, surely it wouldn't have been given out (because the umpire said not out to LBW), but then england could have reviewed that decision and then it would have been given out??

Rodgers would have kept his review but would have been out on england's review.

am i right?

You've summed it up mate.
It's rubbish.
Getting away with one is part of the game, same as footy goal line technology !

i bet you kawaja wouldn't have got away with the two inside edges rodgers has had or the one clarke had, one of those would have hit the stumps with him. Luck is a massive part in any sport, i don't care what people say.

Everyone laughed at Mike Baseett when he said england needed luck to win the world cup, but he was right.

only aussies batsman is out

I was watching with my dad yesterday and I said at start, rather tongue in cheek that we wouldnt bat the day out. I never had an idea I would nearly be right!

The batsmen are not at the races, possibly complacency now we have retained the ashes. I would drop a couple of players to shake them up. Tell them they are DROPPED, not rested.

this is true, unlike the bowler there's no competition for batting places. Bairstow has been playing game after game with the selectors waiting for him to get some form. However if his batting for was transferred to bowling form as proven by Finn, he would be dropped. Also feel Compton wasn't given a fair crack and preferred Root batting lower down but that's just personal opinion.

compton made sure we didn't lose the series in new zealand. bairstow has done nothing. Root has a future as a test opener, but i don't think compton should have been dropped. I don't believe he's test standard, but when you see the chances others have had (bell and bopara), it really isn't too fair. would have kept root at 6 for the start of this series with compton opening and re-assessed it after a couple of tests. at least compton treasured his wicket, half of these loons are giving people like steven smith test wickets

always thought it was going to be hard for Root to replicate his previous form at 6 as an opener. Although he does it for county facing the new ball is a total different challenge than coming in at 6 against an old ball. Compton should of been kept to open.

jesus, what happened? popped out for a few hours. can't believe we let a county standard player get a century. mind you with all the lives he had, it's no surprise.

end of play probably
