I have the Aussies ahead in this game still. Would say it’s 60/40 in their favour. The win predictor thing they keep showing is gubbins.
Feel like Brook is due a decent score but would have him batting at four or even five
He's got no business at all being at 3. He's a Travis Head type of player. I don't know the answer to the number 3 spot though, real shame for Pope.

With the defensive techniques the English batsmen have, combined with favourable bowling conditions and a decent Australian attack, you think sitting there waiting to snick off is the better option?
I would prefer to take it slow after watching how the Aussie wickets fell today.

But I don't think I'll get my wish... They'll come out guns firing anyway.

If England were capable of showing a solid defensive technique I'd agree, that's proven not to be the case over a decent period of seasons now for these players. Play to your strengths.

Difficult to predict. 224 with 10 wickets remaining England have a very good chance. Given how the ball was moving around today (assuming it will be similar tomorrow) I think Aus might edge it. I really hope England win. It would be a real shame for this series to fizzle out.

The strength is to be aggressive but I think the short ball is the issue. They might have to be patient and duck under a few and then attack once the spinner comes on or they go back to length.

I think the fact England got to the close without loss makes them favourites. If the weather is brighter tomorrow it should be better for batting.

I do agree, I don't think they have the brains to pick and choose which ball to pull and hook and leave, so they should just put it away completely and if need be wear everything on the body, and be aggressive on the fuller balls. That would be a good compromise and if I was McCullum would be my message. From experience, hooking is quite often compulsive, but also can be stopped if the message is clear to play zero hooks.

I think that's probably a good approach. For some batsman it's not a high percentage shot to go after it consistently. But it depends on the match circumstances too. Stokes was smart and tried to go after it towards the shorter boundary. Head did that earlier too.

The weird thing about number three is it depends how soon the first wicket goes down. If you lose an early wicket you don't want brook, but if you put 100 on then you do. I wonder if batting line ups will become more fluid as the test game evolves.

Winviz is hilariously rubbish. Especially in a sport like cricket where things change so quickly. It’s basically pointless

Yeah, it really should be the slot of the best player in the side.
