For what it’s worth, I didn’t mean all of their 18 individually are better than all of our 18. If that’s how it’s interpreted, that’s not what I meant.

What i meant was, as a collective, as a new manager coming in, looking at both sets of squads, at the start of this season when I said it, before DCL came alive, before they broke Haller, Anderson, Yarmolenko, Fabianski and Diop and before Wham as a team fell off a cliff, I’d have chosen their squad over ours because I believed, at that time, it had marginally better potential.
You said the same thing about Villa and Newcastle nearly 10 years ago when you were on the wind up back then.

It’s all a bit desperate, Jake. You’re on a hiding to nothing, my man. Ghost hunting.

I don’t know why you choose this path, but your efforts are wasted in this case, I’m afraid.

@Keiran you can deny all you want, the good jury folk of midnight court have reviewed the evidence and cast their votes already.

It is now time to come to the light.

It’s not a denial good buddy, it’s no contest. There’s no case to answer.

As I said to you yesterday, report your concerns about my authenticity and conduct to the appropriate GOT staff who are tasked and empowered with making these decisions.

If they decide that something(s) I’ve said means I can no longer participate on GOT anymore, I’ll take that on the chin respectfully.

In the meantime you keep having your fun, no harm done mate. ;)

Some highlights

Steven Fletcher and Kevin Doyle anyone?
In all honesty, both Fletcher and Doyle would be good signings, Fletcher can play off the striker or out wide, and Doyle is a good finisher. But for what they would cost, neither represent a good investment.

In the "He could do a job for us" thread
Freddy Adu, Hassan Kachloul, Nicolas Milian, or Sherman Cardenas

David Bentley anyone?

Bentley has had his injuries at Birmingham that have hampered his spell there, but when he's been fully fit, more often than not he's been in the side. He's flattered to decieve there, but he's still a very good player, an out and out winger with pace who has a good final ball, if we signed him, he would go straight into the team no question. Come on, mate, form is temporary and all that.

How about Seb Larrsson?
Larsson would be a tremendous signing for us.

Downing was better than Ashley Young
Downing has only had one full season there and that was last season. He signed the summer previously but was injured for the first 3 or 4 months i believe. I'm not disagreeing, it just seems evident that Downing was the more important player to Villa.

Villa fans don't seem to think so. It was Downing who won the Fans player of the year award, and the Players player of the year award at Villa last year.Stats seem to hold up for him, Opta has posted several snippets on the BBC regarding Downing.

On Moyes getting the Utd job
United won't go for Moyes. Never in a million years. In fact no club in Europe in the Premier League would take a serious look at him should Wenger, Mancini, Fergie, Ancelotti etc go for several reasons. He's not got a good record in the transfer market with decent money, he's not got a good record in Europe, and he's still yet to win anything with us. He's not the kind of manager who would inspire big name players to join the club, and forgive me David, you've done well here, but he's tactically inept.

Redknapp, McLeish, Coyle, O'Neill and probably even McLaren are ahead of Moyes in the queue for those jobs. Celtic would be an interesting job for him, might be the easy route, but its guarenteed Champions League every year, fighting for titles and cups even if its only in the SPL. Did O'Neills career no harm at all going up there.

lol lol lol

£20m is a lot of money, like Carroll and Henderson, i'm fairly sure he won't flop (bar a serious or niggling injury) he'lll do OK, but it'll be a challenge for any of them to prove they were worth that money.

On Aquilaini
As for Aquilani, i'm not sure how much Serie A you watch, but he's been exceptional for Juventus, as he was for Roma, even played himself back into the Italy team. I was quite gutted when they signed him, but a bit like Cole, he never saw much game time.

On Raul Meireles
An excellent player, was gutted when he signed for them, think its a massive mistake they are getting rid of him. As for him coming here, few problems with that.

1) We don't have any money.
2) He'd never come to us and unneccessarily upset Liverpool fans unless we were a career step up or at least on a level, which we are not.
3) For betraying his club he'd expect premium wages, the wages he is currently on would probably make him our best paid player anyway, and he'd want more.
4) Liverpool are under no pressure to sell, they are demanding in the region of £15m from Juve and Inter. To sell to us, they'd demand closer to £20m, which is more than we'd get for either Rodwell or Fellaini (presuming both would be sold) we'd have to spend 2/3 of our potential transfer budget on a feutile bid for a player who's a little out of our range.
5) We don't have any money.

I love the ambition though, we should fax them a cheeky bid and make it public, just to wind them up

Lots of examples of RS flattery, here's one.

Reina, Johnson, Torres, Mascherano and Gerrard are for me in the top 5 in the world in their positions. Thats the difference really, we don't have one player in that category. And until we do, or they start losing theirs, we'll struggle to bridge the gap.

Advocating selling Jags, Baines, Felliani, and Barkley in nearly all of his posts as well.
