The biggest bottle job in history

Watson's corner should have pulled him after that penultimate round, he was clearly not even remotely there and serving him up to Eubank was a highly lamentable oversight. Very sad, and a very strong man that was somehow able to survive as well as he has.

There's a few horror stories out there.

1985 was particularly bad. By far the best team in the league and cruising in the cup final till Gary Stevens gave the ball away. Never got over that season and still to this day don't know how we never won the double. We were better than them in nearly every department but bottled it and history and the media hail them, that Season, as one of the best ever. WTF.

Not football, but a pal of mine is a pro golfer, on the seniors tour these days. Was 5 shots clear at the final 3 holes of a decent paying tournament. Bogey, bogey, triple bogey. Finished 2nd or 3rd. Cost him circa £70k. He does not like talking about it.
Phil Mickelson at the US Open at Shinnecock, was like 5 ahead of the others on the last day and just....ballesed it up. Norman was known for this as well.
