The David Moyes debate

Martinez took over a weak premiership side, like Moyes. 3 years later Wigan are still a weak premiership side. Probably weaker. In Moyes' first 3 years, he had taken Everton to 7th place in 2002-03, missing europe by a point and then qualified for the champions league two years later.

Imagine Wigan finishing 4th. LOL.

I honestly can't believe that people want to get rid of Moyes for Martinez.

His claim to fame is keeping Wigan in the premier league by the skin of their teeth for what 3 seasons now?!

I await the arrival of the 3 Championship teams next Season.

Im sure 1 of them will become next Seasons FOTM.

Yer right mate, get Brendan Rodgers is, or Steve Kean either will do.

Sold Rooney for 25million and reinvested. But well forget that.

He knows how to spot a player, thats for sure.

On 29 June 2010, Boselli signed a four-year deal with Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £6.5 million.

In March 2012, Wigan fans voted Boselli as the club's worst ever foreigner.

In January 2011, he signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract with Everton along with teammate Seamus Coleman.

Nice one Moyes lar.

So, Martinez is this months Coyle?

You loons are smoking some good sheet.

Being that there seems to be no manager IN THE WORLD that can do Moyes' job, hes a realistic alternative imo being that Moyes is that awesome hell be at *insert top European club here* next season.

And because a suggestion is made, it gets shot down, not on a footballing basis, but on a net spend and a "he didnt get a champions league place" criteria.

Which on the flip side, if Moylez was that good and just needed money...why is he still here after 10 years?

Wont happen with Martinez anyway, his contract is up and hell be off somewhere else ...but when people ask for an alternative, no ones given an answer that doesn't involve assumptions on why said alternative couldn't work.

If Moyes just sat out the Derby matches and managed the other 36 games it might almost be bearable. I doubt he'll wear it though:

"Davie, you and Roundy go and do a bit of gardening or whatever this weekend. We've got someone in to take the Kopites on and who doesn't shake in the dugout. Here's a few quid; get a BBQ going lad"

It doesn't have to be because "he didn't get a champions league place". He hasn't even finished in the top 15.

2009-10 finish: 16th
10-11: 16th
Current position:16th

Then compare that with Moyes. Or are we ignoring that?

Brilliantly said and spot on.

Always funny how every manager suggested gets shot down because they've never done what Moyes has yet all the outside factors are ignored and ist simply "they're **** lad".

And then its claimed Moyes is a candidate for the teams above us in the league despite never doing what any of their current managers have, then all outside factors are raised as to why that is.

Martinez has fought relegation for the past 3 years. Lets do it.
