The David Moyes debate

Brilliantly said and spot on.

Always funny how every manager suggested gets shot down because they've never done what Moyes has yet all the outside factors are ignored and ist simply "they're **** lad".

And then its claimed Moyes is a candidate for the teams above us in the league despite never doing what any of their current managers have, then all outside factors are raised as to why that is.

I've said it before and i'll say it again. David Moyes came from Preston an unknown entity, many Everton fans s**t themselves when they heard the news as he had zero pedigree and no top flight experience at all. He then went on to lead us into europe several times.

Anybody who says that another manager could not do what Moyes has done is utterly deluded.

It doesn't have to be because "he didn't get a champions league place". He hasn't even finished in the top 15.

Then compare that with Moyes. Or are we ignoring that?

I have...when pointing out the fact they've spent less money and have had less time in the league.

They haven't had those Rooney and Lescott sales with big transfer fees to build a squad over the years, so their position is about right.

Since he's taken over their net spend is -£9m. Not really surprising that he's struggled. They finished 11th in 08-09, then Martinez came in and they lost Valencia (who had been a key part of their 11th place finish).

Again, seeing the by product of limited investment, less than us, for a small club unable to attract the players we can rather than the managers football philosophy (ie playing positive football with belief) and style of play.

Yes, and you know damn well what he meant. The money is irrelevant if it is not spent on the squad.
