The David Moyes debate

I hope Harry Redknapp leaves Spurs and Moyes is targeted by them. I wish Moyes the best, he's definitely an Evertonian but we need a change and if we can target the right manager it could be the best thing for both parties. I'd even take Peter Reid tbh!

It's just time for a change this summer. It's not fair on Moyes or the players we need to start a new project and get Barkley in the team. All that will happen if Moyes stays is that the odd player will want to leave (Heitinga or Jagielka I'm sure), Barkley will still be held back, Vellios will not reach his potential, we will continue to play 4-5-1 and it will just be the same old stuff. We need a change and Tottenham is the best bet for that happening. We will start the season poorly, get knocked out of the League Cup, have the same old debates, and nothing will change. I want excitement.

I have heard that Everton are going to open contract talks with him at the end of the season. Unfotunately for me this will mean my last game at goodison will be newcastle. I can't be arsed with all the rushing about match days to get there and be all stressed out because of his sh1t team selection and lower league tactics.

I hope he's not just trying to boost his bargaining position. Imagine employing this mid-table achieving, Derby match failing duffer for £4M per annum for the next 5 years?

Every tall building security team in Liverpool needs to be on suicide alert.

I posted on another thread, I can't see a job that will interest him. I think he will stay as where else is he going to go? I can't see Spurs offering it him, I really can't and you can forget Chelsea. However according to oddschecker Steve Round is the favourite as next Everton manager. Shudders

Moyes Mk II.

He'll cost nothing to hire. Therein lies his beauty for Everton, I suppose.

Good Points:

Good signings
Gets the most out of players
Good motivator
Never gives up
Not afraid to speak his mind over refereeing decisions
Seems to get good deals when we sell players
Good relationship with United and other managers

Bad points:

Never changes formation - and teams know how to control us. Is it too much to ask to mix it up abit?
Plays favourites - sacrificing players with quality (not playing Barkley, not giving Bily a shot at AM, not playing Coleman RB etc)
Substitutions are predictable, and at the end of the game
Tactics never normally favour ANY of our strikers and we have failed to have a striker perform for more than 2 seasons
Never show ambition in a game to go on and score more goals when 1-0 up
Unless certain players are in the squad, our football is horrible to watch
For having a great youth system, Everton don't half take a while to get young players in the first team. Should be like Arsenal and play them in the Cup games etc...
Plan B is to hoof.

Any extras?

Also as an added extra, i finally got round to watching that Moyes/Kenwright interview on my V+. It was horrible to watch, Moyes seemed normal, like any other man, but then when Kenwright came into it, Moyes just looked like a little boy doing what he can do impress Kenwright, just horrible.

Would prefer Neville

Just to add one more mate. plan A is to hoof aswell.

True.

Plan A is to hoof with Cahill upfront. Plan B is to hoof with Fellaini upfront.

Though to be fair we do play some nice football through the likes of Baines, Fellaini, Osman and Jelavic when Pienaar is playing. Shame we won't be signing him permanently

Even Phil Neville in the post-match interview said maybe if we had gone for the second goal it would not have turned out so disappointing. Moyes clearly got the boys ready for a Liverpool backlash in the second half, which never materialised but put the fear into them. Moyes Out!!!! Enough of the media-asslicking let him prove himself elsewhere.

I know there are other factors involved, but what worries me is look at whats happened to Aston Villa when O'Neill quit. If we dont get a good manager then we could just go straight down.

If we even have one bad season, then our major players (Heitinga, Baines and Fellaini) go.

Neville never made as many as attacking runs in the second half as in the first. In the first he even took on players! The second you were lucky to see him pass Osman/Coleman. Wonder if Moyes had anything to do with that..

The scary thing is, villa play the exact same style of footy as us. we have improved slightly post Jan. But it could easily of been us down there.

I can't see Heitinga wanting to hang around after this summer at all. A falling out is bound to happen.

Two sides to this for me, trying someone else would probably be the only way we could go forward, but it IS a risk, and could be worse of than before. I just can't see anyone who would come to us knowing the budget etc and be better than Moyes.
