The David Moyes debate

Who mate out of intrest?

*Grabs shovel*

Where to start, Vidal, Lassana Diarra, Yann M'Villa, Moussa Sissoko, Javi Martinez, Cabaye at Newcastle, Sven Bender at Dortmund or even Inler at Napoli who has been very impressive. There are a number of equally if not more impressive young DM's across Europe that could command similar fee's and If i were a manager elsewhere, i'd argue they would represent a better investment. And i'll wager a bet that you see most if not all of those lot move on elsewhere before Fellaini does.

Cabaye and Diarra maybe be cheaper but if you are telling me they are better players than Felliani then your defo on some top drugs

Cabye and Diarra are older then Fellaini. You could add Alex Song to that list who has been excellent this season for Arsenal.

I don't know who would pay £20 million for Fellaini. I think he's a good player but I can't see us getting much more then what we paid for him to be honest.

How long have you been watching Everton?

Ha, i keed. Seriously though, was just after constructive feedback because stats paint a different story. I've had discussions at the match about Felli and I heard about Royle discussing it the other day as well. I don't feel its unfair to ask the question, he's a good player but at £15m with our financial situation was he the right player?

Been supporting them in the sense that I'd watch them from 97 onward - when I was old enough to enjoy sport.

Fella, you're entitled to your opinion just as much to the next man. I just happen to think you're deluded in your blind faith towards Moyes, or your all-inclusive blame towards Kenright/the board.

Yesterday was sod all to do about money. Sod all. Come kick-off time yesterday, it was Us v Them. Our chance to rid ourselves of years of misery, of bitternesss and of failure when it mattered. We owed it to them, big time.

I don't know how old/young you are, but anyone who was there in the eighties and suffered the Milk Cup and 2 FA Cup Finals will also have recognised that this was our best opportunity in our lifetime to get one over them when it mattered. They are ****e this season, simple as that. Their team is dire, they were on the rack confidence/run of form-wise, and all the ingredients were in place to take them on. Of course, form goes out of the window for any derby - but this should have mattered more to us, we had a lifetime of reasons to spur us on and let the form book be acted out on this occasion.

What we saw was a totally abject performance, from a side who I believe are capable of matching that shower - at least. On current form etc, we had absolutely no reason to fear them and should have gone for the jugular. They probably expected us to, and dare I go so far as to profer that they were bricking it as they thought their number was up at long last?

Lack of money blah blah - it in no way justifies nor excuses what that total beaut did yesterday. And it's not the first time. He continually does it. And he's paid £3 million a year. It's a disgrace - and I'm of the opinion that it's as equally disgraceful that some fellow Blues are still backing him.

History repeated itself yesterday. Also His-Story repeated itself. Money and the backing of the board didnt matter yesterday. Liverpoool have spunked a shed load on garbage and we were up against them yesterday and on paper, on form and on desire we SHOULD have been the favourites.

As soon as he set his defensive stall out - once again - we lost. There is only one person on this planet to take the blame for that crime. I for one won't ever forgive him, and I will not rest until he is shown the revolving door on Goodison Road.
It's all about opinions mate as you pointed out and I think you're deluded, we weren't the favourites for the game with one single bookmaker why??? Because Liverpool are a better side than us whether you or any other fan agree's is besides the point, if you'd have watched a lot of there games leading up to the semi you'd have seen even in the games they've lost they've dominated nearly everyone, I understand football mate and never fancied us all along because if both team's play to there potential they will beat us 8/10 times as proved this season by beating us 3/3, the reason they have better players is because they've spent more money, yes they've spent money on players who aren't worth close to there valuation but never the less even the likes of Stewart Downing and Andy Carroll would IMO walk into our team infront of Gueye and Tim Cahill unless you're being biased and kidding yourself, it's easy to blame Moyes fella but with what that ****e hawk of a chairman gives him to spend we more than punch above our weight and the so called golden boys to the press like Martin O Neil who are always given more money to spend at clubs like villa and Sunderland yet always finish lower in the league shows you he ain't doing too badly, is he the best manager in the world ??? not by a long shot, is he good enough for Everton under the poor Kenwright regime ?? Most definatley IMO

Cabaye at Newcastle better than Fellain, not a chance lar, worst shout I've heard this year that mate

Fellaini is a tremendous player but a bit of a luxury at the same time. I think 15-20M could be put to better use myself.

In a top side he would be great.

You have to be saying this with tongue in cheek surely?

Thanks for the input. Its obviously not as cut and dry as it has been made out and always good to see differing opinions.

I didn't say that. I was naming a number of equally impressive 'young' players in the same position as Fellaini who would command similar fee's who in my opinion would represent better value on any investment as a buyer.

And to be blunt, I don't care if i get more stick for this, but if you think Fellaini is in the top 10 DM's about, you are one deluded soul.

I've gradually moved into the anti-Moyes camp over the last year or so. I've criticised him before but continued to think he was still the best man for the job. Not any more. I just think he's completed a cycle at Everton now.
I will be eternally grateful for what he's done for the club but I feel it's just time to move on. Do I have the ideal replacement in mind? No. Am I scared about the idea of a replacement being worse? Yes. But I think both the club and Moyes need to move out of this comfort zone they find themselves in.
It saddens me to think we've reached the stage where so many fans hate David Moyes. I certainly don't but I do feel an increasing sense of frustration with his decisions and tactics in general.

you cannot deny he has been good for us and got the team and fans back believing in themselves again........however i think his tactics on how to win games has become stagnant especially one off games he just doesnt seem to have it in his locker

his safety first approach is beginning to strangle the life out of the club once again

Depends what you want from Everton, I'm old school so ManU, Liverpool etc are flyweights to the Everton heavyweight. Nothing I can do about it, I've seen us as the best and any less is unacceptable.

i've always despised the "punching above weight" and "we're 7th" justifying what in my opinion is turgid football plus it's quite clear Moyes protects kenwright and vice versa and the pair of 'em think they're doing a great job.

10 yrs is enough.

Its time for a change he has been great for us but he has now gone stale.
We will never win anything under him because he is too scared to go for it and that comes across to the players.
I dont know what his half time teamtalk was on saturday but we had them nd 2nd half our players froze.
He needs to go for himself and the club
