Could it be sung without the wooo bit. The rest of it isnt to bad. Just that wooo bit is a bit cringe after a while.
Me personally i still love belting out grand old team at the top of my lungs.

Have you noticed commentators at Everton games lately have been calling Everton "the grand old team" and "the grand old club"...just when this shower of turds at Everton FC stop promoting the song at home games.

They are completely 'kin clueless. A festering boil on the face of this institution.

If you know your history as the school of scientific football - that song never dates -

The school of science goes back to the team that coasted to the1939 title - in which we produced the first ball playing centre half TG Jones - when centre halves were just stoppers & hoof merchants - This guy was like Franz Beckenbauer My late father raved about him - while I idolised Brian Labone - who was class - booked only twice in a 12-year career with us at centre half -

Grand Old Team song has run its course. Got very boring. Put it on the shelf for a few seasons and bring it back again.
Spirit of the blues is newish and everyone joins in and can be heard very well at all grounds. Sounds very loud when the chorus starts with EVERTON.
Think it has another season or 2 in it before it also becomes boring. Personally I love the Woooos :)

Difference for me is that Grand old team is a fan led song, fans adapted the words andit was brought through the pubs and terraces. The recorded version only came along decades later.

Spirit of the Blues is an official club song so for me it's more of a plastic song. You don't even have to go the match to know it.

Same applies to Here we go and Forever Everton. I do actually like Forever Everton as a recorded song, but it's not about that for me. The true Everton version of Forever Everton for me is the terrace version we fans adapted, "They've got the worst supporters of any football team etc". That is the version that should be sung. As that's the true Everton version.

Oh God. What have you done?!
