I can guess which is your favourite though….As long as our fans are getting behind our players and inspiring them to victory in the same way that we did towards the end of last season then I don't care what we sing!
I noticed Spirit of the Blues a lot more in recent seasons. I'm not a regular at GP to realise Grand Old team had stopped being played. Crazy. Reinstate. This might be unimportant in terms of the real problems we're face with at the club at the moment, but it's getting on my nerves and I have to speak out.
Over the past 12 months or so the club have placed this song down the pecking order in favour of stuff like Forever Everton and that abomination Spirit of the Blues (which, IMO, only people who are impressed by cat memes can possibly like).
Grand Old Team should rightfully be restored to being played prior to Z-Cars and immediately after any win or good/unexpected draw against a top of the table challenging team.
The fact that no longer happens is another example of the trampling down of our culture by the clueless frauds who've cratered the club in the last 7 seasons.
Thoughts?

It well predates that in this city mate. It's a Grand Old Team is the Glasgow Celtic anthem. The team sang it as they waited in the tunnel before the European Cup Final of 1967 in Lisbon.

A version was sung by school kids in Liverpool in the inter war period. This is from Terry Cooke's book 'Scotland Road' and shows St Anthony's sung it for their footy team...
If the woooo was dropped it would be absolutely fine.
There was a muted "We Shall Not be Moved" last night Dave oh and a slightly tongue in cheek of "tell Me Ma, Me Ma" Wembley Twice was mentioned, optimistic, maybe but why not!!It well predates that in this city mate.
