The EU deal

If those skills include making the effort to get out of bed early every morning to actually go and put a shift in at a less than enjoyable job on minimum or near minimum wage then plenty of employers actually do need that.
They can hire British workers to do that job. If they can't attract them due to the low wage then they should pay them more. That's a sign of country's progress not something we should be looking to reverse just so business owners can make more profit.

Yeah, because those British are lazy gets aren't they?

The language of the parasitical company owners and agencies, used to promote cheap imported labour and spread the myth that every UK citizen on the dole or in low-paid work is workshy.

And yet 1700 people applied for 8 jobs in costa coffee...All eastern Europeans, no doubt.

His so called "Rivers of Blood" speech predicted some sort of apocalyptic Britain riven by racial war.

"As I look ahead, I am filled with foreboding; like the Roman, I seem to see 'the River Tiber foaming with much blood.'"

It hasn't happened, has it?
it's tragic that this outstanding personality has been widely misunderstood as predicting actual bloodshed in Britain, when in fact he had used the Aeneid quotation merely to communicate his own sense of foreboding.

No of course it doesn't make you feel sorry because just like the referendum you would prefer the debate and referendum weren't taking place.

I'm very happy that the debate is taking place - I'm just being honest about my own feelings about the referendum. But it's happening all the same. So (again) are you saying that at present people are scared of coming out in favour of Brexit (if that's what you were referring to) in case their career is threatened? I just disagreed with that sentiment and it didn't evoke any sympathy from me.

But that's the point. No one hates foreigners in our country. They hate open borders and uncontrolled immigration for valid reasons.

There are people who hate foreigners in our country, this can't be disputed. Doesn't mean you or people in this thread do, but it's ludicrous to suggest that there aren't people who hate foreigners in any country. We have quite a few vocal elements within fringe political parties, for one.

What does he care. He probably uses cheap labour himself to get his lawns done and that's far more important.

Trying to tell me there's no underlying racial tension - from ALL races - in the UK?

There haven't been any race riots?

There are no muslim fundamentalist loons?

There are no neo-nazis?

You're kidding yourself, if so.

I'm thinking back to last week when my school celebrated the opening of its new kitchen by inviting parents in to sample various cuisines. Ghanaian, Bengali, Turkish, Jamaican, Congolese, Somali. Everyone laughing and chatting and filling their boots. It was wonderful to behold.

As far as I remember, there were no rivers of blood. No Muslims attacked the white British parents. No WB patents showed any sign of marching against the darkies.

It's not just coming out for Brexit. That's just one part. Until recently anyone who spoke even mildly against immigration was branded a Racist. It's not that long ago that Brown did that to a woman he met during the election. If you think it's as socially acceptable to be in favor of Brexit as remain then you are simply wrong. If you think it doesn't have career implications you are wrong.

There's probably more foreigners who hate British people in this country.

I haven't read the whole thread, but I just can't believe the trade argument...
Would Boeing suddenly stop buying Rolls Royce engines? Would BMW, VW, Toyota etc suddenly ignore a 65m population marketplace? Aldi just expanded to a huge chain of UK shops, would they close them all again? Would the world stop buying BP oil? Would the world's armies not want our weapons tech and is our scientific industry now useless?
Add to that that London is the biggest financial hub in the world, and one of the biggest single-city economies in the world, then that the UK is the 5th biggest world economy...
It doesn't add up that countries would suddenly stop trading with us, even if they had to negotiate separate deals to do so.
Add to that we are an English speaking marketplace and I just don't see an argument for us not being able to seal individual trade deals with any nation on earth.

Evening Jim how are you today,

Three words. Clint.

Oldham, Seven, and Seven.

Folly to think there's no underlying tensions. And why does it have to be the 'WB' marching against the darkies?

I didn't realise dark-skinned people were incapable of racism themselves, like.

EDIT: Misread the last part of your post, apologies ;)

Yes, but that's off topic.

Nelson Mandela was a hero who fought for the freedom of his people, mate. He is a hero to many millions of people, both black and white. Anyone who tries to portray him as a terrorist exists on the very edges of the political spectrum. You have revealed yourself to be some dodgy extremist who should not be taken at all seriously.
