The EU deal

British bill of rights MY ARSE!

Successive governments (But mainly the tory ones) have skewed Magna Carta beyond recognition. The tories want to go back to the original charter (i.e. the 'robber barons' get 'justice' while the peon swings)

No right to remain silent.

No right to defend yourself in court.

Double jeopardy abolished.

No trial by peers.

Secret Courts.

Guilty until proven innocent.

No money = NO JUSTICE.
If it wasn't for posts like this, I'd probably have you on ignore, because posts like this
The thought police aka the new world order. And some divs are sleepwalking right into it.
are just tosh.

We've had this debate before in a slightly different context. Just because it's not labelled British doesn't mean it's not suitable for us.

We should be striving for a world convention on human rights.

Yeah, I'm not really a conquer the world kind of guy tbh. I like the power to be as close to the people as possible because I do not trust the elite.

Human rights issues shouldn't be about power, or the elite though should they. Any convention/agreement should supercede governments.

That is exactly my worry. They supercede the government which people elect. Who decide these agreements? Who can change them? Like I said I personally like the power to be close to the people who then lend it to the government they elect to enact policies on their behalf.

Just the same way big corporations use regulation to snuff out competition. Global elites can use "human rights" to push and agenda.

e.g. Look at the problems we have deporting people because of human rights. Personally I think those are decisions best left to the people not those with the power to control global institutions.

If you think human rights abuses are going to stop dictators then you are both wrong and laying the foundation for more foreign wars.

Oh God please don't go to the off topic arguments. Last time we ended up at the Holocaust and Apartheid. What next Holodomor?

lol

I've been lucky with my bets recently (won £500), so I might put a bet on Brexit, I've already put a bet on for Trump to win. Hoping my betting luck will win us the referendum. ;)

Tbh we should vote leave just so that we can have an independence day and get smashed.

Go on what? You're the one who seems to think I've called people racist. You go on.

You put a thin veil on it, rather than coming out with it outright. And rather than calling the people you call their views (Essentially the same thing)

This is you (From a thread where you got it locked with your usual M.O. of reducing most political topic to racism)

https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/...-general-election.70010/page-532#post-3507132

All the main parties are treating the immigration issue in a reactionary manner, following the increase in support of UKIP. The UKIP message is a dangerous one. It is racism via subterfuge, scare tactics, lies and deceit. It is backwards thinking and has no place in our society. It is destroying community cohesion and spreading fear where there is none.

So, you decide who thinks what, do you? o_O

And your very next post in that thread...

Depends who's control you are looking at. UKIP have no issue with white, western immigrants but seem to with those from Bongo Bongo Land.

Now, do you continue to deny you think people who disagree with you on immigration are racist???
