The EU deal

That's not how democracy works. It wasn't that long ago that the Tories were a shambles and Labour were completely dominant.

The temporary result of who is in power after the referendum is small beer compared to who will be in power for the next 50-100 years. i.e. career politicians enacting laws in the interests of multinational corporations with little to no democratic oversight.

...you might be right but that's little comfort for youngsters looking to find their way in the next 10-20 years. I feel much better with the safety net of Europe to protect the basic rights that folk have fought for over many years. I'm convinced change will erode those rights and it will take some time to win them back.

Have the Remain camp started stooping so low as to turn the referendum into a beauty contest already?

Not sure why but I was expecting better.

They must be getting extremely desperate.

And what will their futures look like with even more 3rd world immigration, little to no democracy and corporations effectively dictating government policy.

People's standard of life doesn't come from regulation. It comes from high employment rates and good wages. That is not going to happen once the multinational corporations use regulation to essentially snuff out all other competition.

The EU isn't a safety net but it is a net. Once we're in we will be trapped. If you think once they have consolidated power they are going to be benign dictators then look at the Southern European countries and see what is happening. Once their anti competitive practices ruins our economy for all but the very few huge corporations then just like the Sourthern Europeans we will have to go through austerity to balance the books.

Do you really think it acceptable to insult people the way you do? An embarrassment that you're an Evertonian.

Your hypocrisy's what's embarrassing, squire.

You're a disgrace.

Seriously, get yourself a sense of humour AND perspective - or am I a disgrace because I'm critical of the turks? More than likely, given your M.O. when it comes to islamic countries. :coffee:

Looks like immigration could become an even bigger issue quite soon...What's Merkel gonna do if the turks allow free passage for syrians/iraqis/palestinians etc again?

....immigration is a real concern, I agree. I think it would still be a problem (perhaps less of one) if we leave. I don't get the wages will increase argument. I voted to go in in 1975 and will definitely vote to stay in this time. We'll have to agree to differ.

I cant make up my mind.

Thanks.

I think he meant that only idiots would base their entire decision on those cherry picked meme pictures.

There are many throughout the country that can't make their mind up. I think a lot of them won't bother to vote.

The wages would increase due to the fact employers aren't under any pressure to raise them since they can always get someone else to do the job for the same or cheaper from abroad.
