Nothing stupid about not wanting to expose one's self to risk, no matter how greatly perceived or easily dismissed.
Oh, trust me - I'd happily tell you the same things about my stance on immigration in person. I'm not ashamed of it. Nor should I be made to feel like it's something I ought to be ashamed of.
You seem to think any risks and pitfalls of uncontrolled immigration are non-existent. Or that they're grossly exaggerated. I disagree. We've already seen evidence. We're seeing the extreme right making gains in popularity across europe because of this attitude and the policy.
You seem overly keen (Along with certain others) to attribute some sort of racist element to it; yet there's plenty share my views that are 1st, 2nd or even 3rd generation immigrants themselves. Are they racist?
To clarify, I don't want British citizens OF ANY RACE, CREED OR COLOUR being subjected to more pressure on their public services, or being exposed to risk of crime of any sort brought about by some laissez-faire, or even the status quo approach to immigration.
We simply must have control of our own borders.
how much money do UK farmers get off the EU?
the National Trust alone got €10 million
Oh, I certainly don't think they're non-existent, but definitely over-exaggerated, for sure.
You see, what you're feeling, it isn't anything new. It's just a modern day Oswald Mosley, or Rivers of Blood, or "If you want an <N word> for a neighbour, vote Liberal or Labour". People with your mindset always feel under threat by something that is perceived as alien to your way of life, and it doesn't really matter what stats, facts and figures I throw your way, you will ignore them because your personal viewpoint is that you, personally, are under threat and you don't really care what the wider scenario is.
And that's what UKIP is - a collective of Little Englanders, selfish in their core desire, coming together for a common cause of ignorance.
Would 1st, 2nd or 3rd gen immigrants doing the same thing have probably racist grounds in their viewpoint too? Yes, absolutely. You see, that's the thing with migration - once they're here, they can become English, and at that point they are English, every bit as much as you or me, so the colour of their skin or religion they hold doesn't negate their political views. See Priti Patel for details.
It is, as said, in many ways completely futile discussing the pros of immigration with you, as it's talking to a wall basically, but I'll continue to do it, as the worst thing you can do in the face of such loud ignorance is to stay silent, so that the ignorance is the only one talking. Whether you like it or not, migration is massively beneficial to the UK, and I can only hope that there's more voices in the political sphere (beyond those named Nick Clegg FFS) who start to talk about it properly, so that people can avoid scare tactics from the likes of Farage.
Nice sweeping generalisation there. But that sort of thing is only bigotry when done by the right.Oh, I certainly don't think they're non-existent, but definitely over-exaggerated, for sure.

Not as much as the French get I'm sure of that.how much money do UK farmers get off the EU?

Can you point out where Farage has said he wants all immigration stopped? Or anything anti semetic? It is what it is. They are people who don't learn from history, and are doomed to repeat it. Farage is a modern day Mosley; there's no difference.
I can make a sweeping generalisation when it's about people who follow a party with a set of defined core beliefs. It is what you are. You can put a nice coat of paint on an old wreck, but an old wreck it remains.
It's always about what someone else is getting with you isn't it?Not as much as the French get I'm sure of that.
I have concern for others. It's always about what someone else is getting with you isn't it?

And that makes him a Nazi?Yes mate, right here. Five year ban, those already here to re-apply.
"In terms of immigration, in terms of people coming to settle, I would suggest that for up to a five-year period we don't have people coming to settle until we sort out the mess."

The anti-semitic part is irrelevant. That was the threat in Mosley's day; replace that with "migrants" or "foreigners" for Farage.
And that makes him a Nazi?
