So you're happy for someone who has never been elected in her life to have power over you?what? so she was hired by our elected representatives to do a job and can be equally replaced when they feel the job she is doing isn't good enough?
Do you have a problem with Government Advisors or 'Tsars' who are similarly put in place by governments to manage specific things?
How many people do you want to vote for each week?
I think that the EU have made the position clear on this. There will be no renegotiation of any deals. It is all or nothing at this referendum.
The top table are unelected (the European Commission) - no other way of spinning it. I'm one for keeping us in the EU, but it is distasteful to me that we have what basically amounts to a politburo at the heart of the EU.
The way it basically works is you have an unelected few who make decisions that can in theory be vetoed by those elected, but rarely happens.
It's like not voting for an MP and having them forced upon you, but the system is nice enough to allow you to vote for your local council.
On the plus side the FTSE has gone up.......
she was hired by the Government and can be fired by the Government. She is a Government Employee. Her oversight is elected. So you're happy for someone who has never been elected in her life to have power over you?
hired by which government?she was hired by the Government and can be fired by the Government. She is a Government Employee. Her oversight is elected.
no mate the socialist republic of the Eu will stop it always look after the worker just ask the Greeks , Spanish workers how well that plays out, wage cuts, longer hours, pensions cut all for there own good, all imposed by the EU in there bale out terms. So if we leave the EU the Tories are going to reopen the coal mines and put our children to work for a stale crust of bread a day![]()
Those bankers so keen for Britain to stay in will protect us workers just fine.no mate the socialist republic of the Eu will stop it always look after the worker just ask the Greeks , Spanish workers how well that plays out, wage cuts, longer hours, pensions cut all for there own good, all imposed by the EU in there bale out terms.
Same people that backed taking the pension surpluses build up in the rail pension funds, then gave it to there there new employers who hadn't paid a penny in, funny enough who just happened to be German, French, Dutch state owned mostly, yes really look after the workers alright that lot.
wonder why they keep expanding into poorer counties , to get an ever cheaper wage pool, that must be for the benefit of the worker a well.
sure they will,Those bankers so keen for Britain to stay in will protect us workers just fine.
Blair-Brown, she replaced Peter Mandleson as European Commissioner for Trade according to your link.hired by which government?
sure they will,
More worrying don't know how we will get by not being in a club of 20 odd.
makes you wonder how the rest of the worlds 170 counties manages to get along without it.
She had EU wide powers, who outside of the UK voted for the Labour government that annointed her?Blair-Brown, she replaced Peter Mandleson as European Commissioner for Trade according to your link.
She has been promoted within the EU since.
She is our Government's representative and the Conservatives obviously think she is doing a capable job or else they would have replaced her with someone more 'ideologically' suited.
no, I'm not. I couldn't care less what the Left do. If we leave the EU what little industry/manufacturing will collapse and the Economy will be screwed.
How will taking away the rights of workers make it better for anyone? there is a growing proportion of full time workers who cant afford food and a roof over their heads as it is, abolishing EU work practises will only allow Employers to pay less for more work.
Do you not think that if Boris, IDS, Gove, Farage, Galloway and Rupert Murdoch all want the same thing then it must be opposed with every fibre of your being?
Cameron is only anti withdrawal because he's paid by the City who can see what a stupid idea it is.
