rubbish, have you seen what the Tories are doing to Electoral law at the moment?
http://www.theguardian.com/politics...o-electoral-roll-will-face-challenge-in-lords
Changing the boundaries t break up concentrations of Labour votes, kicking millions of none Tory voters off the Electoral Role.

Changing the rules on Election funding
http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/dec/13/tories-david-cameron-buy-election-campaign-spending
Then even breaking those if it looks like they will lose.

They don't care about your Democracy, they want rid of it. There will be no chance for a change.

I agree with you we have to fight that. But not by handing away our power to the unelected highly selected elite in the EU.

?? I'm sure you'll find you have (and can vote for) your MEP.

The whole point is that the EU, because of the varying different opinions involved moves slowly and with a greater consensus than any of it's constituent Parliaments, this means that it acts as a brake to the radical shift to the Authoritarian Right we are currently suffering.

Why would you ever want to remove those brakes? you lose an entire raft of legal framework and gives the UK Government more power to do what it want without opposition. This currently is a terrible thing.

I agree with a lot of this. The problem is the people we elect have little to no power to do... well, anything, so they're largely pointless.

Everything else, yeah spot on. It's an imperfect system, but it's better than the alternative of the Tories let loose to run riot.

they are no more or less powerful than the elected representatives of other Countries.
To say they are an 'unelected elite' is incorrect, they are all voted for by someone.

So if we leave the EU the Tories are going to reopen the coal mines andput our children to work for a stale crust of bread a day o_O

£ now at its lowest rate against the dollar since Cameron became PM. Literally plunged off a cliff in the last 4 hours.

no, I'm not. I couldn't care less what the Left do. If we leave the EU what little industry/manufacturing will collapse and the Economy will be screwed.
How will taking away the rights of workers make it better for anyone? there is a growing proportion of full time workers who cant afford food and a roof over their heads as it is, abolishing EU work practises will only allow Employers to pay less for more work.

Do you not think that if Boris, IDS, Gove, Farage, Galloway and Rupert Murdoch all want the same thing then it must be opposed with every fibre of your being?
Cameron is only anti withdrawal because he's paid by the City who can see what a stupid idea it is.

Why do you believe our defence industry will collapse if we leave the EU. It wouldn't, pure and simple. So why say make these huge assumptions that everything will turn to crap, it won't. Make a case by all means, but merely pushing out scaremongering views coupled with personal attacks on Boris et al, will convince no rational person..........

The top table are unelected (the European Commission) - no other way of spinning it. I'm one for keeping us in the EU, but it is distasteful to me that we have what basically amounts to a politburo at the heart of the EU.

The way it basically works is you have an unelected few who make decisions that can in theory be vetoed by those elected, but rarely happens.

It's like not voting for an MP and having them forced upon you, but the system is nice enough to allow you to vote for your local council.
