The EU deal

She had EU wide powers, who outside of the UK voted for the Labour government that annointed her?
Are you suggesting that the 1 member on the EU council that represents the UK, acts independently of the UK government. She is there in UK government capacity. She doesn't make decisions that the UK government don't want her to make. Exactly the same for the other 27 countries and their council member.

From the leave campaign I'm yet to hear something other than 'blah, blah trade' and the irrational fear for 1392834812398 million immigrants that rock up on our shores despite nearly the same about of British people living abroad in the EU as Immigrants living here.

Who outside their own constituency votes for a minister?
She was hired by the UK Government to represent our views in whatever sphere the EU Parliament use her. surely her being good at her job and having wider ranging powers is a good thing?

I'm not trying to defend the EU here, I'm just saying it would be ridiculous to let the UK Government shaft huge swathes of the Country without any opposition. At the moment the only opposition is the EU Courts and Conventions, we would be Idiots to give those up because they've managed to stir up an racist mob.

Don't forget it's been the Tory Party Grandees who have been funding UKIP for the last couple of elections to swing the mainstream to the right, the Countries Press/TV has been right behind them helping them do it.

I don't really care about the employment status of anyone trying to stop this happening.

She speaks for a whole continent that didn't elect her, same as the rest of the politburo. There is no accountability to the people, MEP's are impotent while the ones making the real decisions have no pesky electorate to answer to.

You need to read more. Why do you think we should stay in ?......

If the UK Government thought she was not acting in their interest or doing what they want she'd be sacked.

No, she speaks for the UK (government) on a council of representatives made up of one member for each state. She has no law making ability without the EU parliament, which is made up of elected MEPs.

Sounds like you're deliberately misrepresenting the truth to favour your argument.

I'm actually undecided so far but I'm more likely to vote in because of the following reasons: job security, investment, workers rights, exports to the EU, and influence on a global scale. – there are some things in Liverpool that have been made available because of the EU such as the science park, liverpool one, docks regeneration and the JL airport

From that entry.
"The High Representative is appointed by the European Council acting by qualified majority. However to take up their role in the Commission, in particular as a vice-president, the High Representative has to appear before Parliament for questioning and then be subject to Parliament's vote of approval on the proposed Commission."
Again, a thoroughly democratic process.

Fair enough. Why do you think those things would not be forthcoming with us out of the Eu and saving Billions every year and not going cap in hand to Brussels to get some of our own money back ?.......

I'm pretty damn sure they can replace their own delegate.
Not ones from other countries obviously. Think of it as a similar job to an ambassador but without the Ferrero Rocher
Our own delegate can make decisions that affect others domestic policy . A bit strange for something that was sold as a trading agreement.

I bet the EU are responsible for autocorrect too.

I just don't see why people are making a fuss about them being unelected given the number of Special Advisors, and 'Tzars' with blatant private sector bias that work and decide policies within Government. Which Companies do Cameron and Co work for? it's certainly not the for the greater public good. At least the EU works to our favour on a lot of things, more so than our own Government.
