The EU deal

My curiousity with all of this is to what effect would the country want to rid itself of the EU? There is some regulations due to come in very soon which is of great interest to me, i'd rather not see them implemented and probably a few million others as well. Would the country effectively take things like that and throw them away/reverse them or would they start a new, go on the basis of how things are and go from that point instead?

If Europe or Russia or the USA introduces a law that is sensible and brings benefits, there is nothing to stop us doing the same. Of course if we were outside of the EU we could observe it in practice before adoption or not.......

The EU did a great job of policing VW and the airborne particles from their diesel engines....

If you seriously believe that the EU and not NATO has been keeping the peace all this time then it's pointless debating that particular issue........
No conflict between EU member states, whilst plenty of conflict elsewhere in the world. Maybe NATO should stop concentrating on ensuring peace in the EU. It seems a little unbalanced.

Yet more mud slinging Petey.

Can the EU be blamed for big corporation deception? Or will they hold them accountable.

Actually there's a lesson in that whole affair for many of those who favour little government and corporations...

I'm sure the same would have happened in or out. My point being that to attempt to claim that the EU has cleaned up our Air is a bit thin......

I too favour little government and smaller corporations......hence my dislike of what the EU is becoming.......

What i mean is if EU regulations are about to come into effect in the next month or two which would directly be applied here, if we were then to leave say 12 months or so down the line would the country then scrap all of the changes like that or keep them as just something that is part of the law?

You'd struggle to have smaller corporations with little government

Depends what they are I suppose. If we leave I'm assuming we'd have a big bonfire of laws.....if our legal profession allow us.........

If I have to be 'governed' and 'ruled' over, I'd much rather have it done by people who occasionally do something I benefit from rather than the mob of crooks down in Westminster working against the Country and it's people.

I don't see how the EU are in any way to be blamed for that? It merely demonstrates who we can't place our faith in corporations who are happy to lie for profit at the detriment of people's health.

But then we should have heeded lessons from Victorian Britain and working standards then.

Yet here we find ourselves with scant regard for workers with zero hour contracts promoted. On top of that our socialised healthcare is being decimated and prepped for privitisation and we have an education system completely demotivated by vindictive attacks.

If the EU is one more control or buffer against the tories and the working class or weakest in our society then we'd be a fool for opting out of it.

One for Bruce......

They're all the same mate.

Power corrupts...Absolute power corrupts absolutely. :(

It is the TPD im interested in. Basically brings in a lot of unnecessarily regulations that basically throw away research into the matter to try and regulate an industry. There is also talk of making any promotion or discussion even illegal, so anyone who put a video up or have a forum or whatever else would be breaking the law by even mentioning it. It is all done for one reason mind you, but a reversal of the regulations would effectively open the industry up a lot more increasing trade, businesses and more tax paid which is all positive surely? Right now within 6 months if the TPD is put into strong effect the country will lose a massive amount of money through paid taxes and people becoming unemployed which is the opposite of the conservative way of thinking.

We would certainly have to keep some of them if we still wished to trade with Europe smoothly is what I'm lead to believe.

Do you have any examples of European laws that you would personally like to throw on the bonfire?
