The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

Pros of BK and True Blue Holdings:
Solidified the clubs position, given time to managers where required and kept the club stable financially.

Cons:
Multiple failed ground moves, no investment and shoddy commercial dealings.

That's it for me. If the stadium move becomes a reality then that changes my perspective on the board but I just feel they haven't done enough whilst they've been in charge in enabling the club to move forward.

The board seem to have found that sweet spot where they can invest nothing and piggy back on the success of the premier league, while running the club well enough to keep the fans from rebelling.
Stunts like announcing the possibility of announcing a stadium plan days after Liverpool announce actual plans, seem to go un-noticed by most Evertonians. Another season of no investment, no Champions league, no trophies...
No chairman/owner group has ever gone this long with out a pot.
It'll take a closer flirt with relegation next season to change anything. Dunno which I'd prefer, mid table mediocrity and no board change or a serious flirt with relegation and the fans driving the board out.

These are the ones I find inexcusable.

Not investing their own money isn't something I really judge Kenwright on, although Earl is a horrible monster for failing to put anything in. The fact that Elstone is still employed after Kitbag and the repeatedly underperforming Chang deals though...that's absolutely horrendous.

I could forgive no investment given the fact they we are patient with managers, and generally seem well-run on the pitch (and of course the wonderful EITC), but their inability to generate revenues has me greatly worried for the future of the club as the popularity of the sport grows and the figures thrown around raise to the stratosphere. Not being able to sign lucrative contracts with sponsors will be a long term albatross around the club's neck, and without luck could well cripple us permanently in regards to ever being one of the biggest clubs in the world again.

Everton are stuck in what I won't argue is a difficult situation - attempting to maintain the fact they are a local club that embodies the city and competing with massive corporate style clubs. It takes a very deft business acumen to navigate that without losing out on one of those aims. I fear we don't have that business sense in the club, and due to the fact that we are a genuine club (and it's the easier option) we'll lose out on the latter option and become a historical note.

Reading that it says we could be losing around £7m in revenue by outsourcing to Kitbag.
Anybody able to confirm when that noose around our neck is loosened?

That Raleigh is it. There is no one up there in Everton who is anything like one could call a real business man!

Elstone openly talks about this. Same with the Sodorex arrangements. We only get to add in the money the two companies give us rather than the total sales revenue from which we are paid.
