Jesus wept, i have stated several times that i don't know what is going on in South Manchester and i don't care. What has that got to do with Man City being at the mercy of one mans pocket and their current standing in world football being solely due to unlimited spending outside of their revenue streams? Please try to understand what it is i am saying.
So the owner of Southampton has 'loaned' the club £20 million so that they can pay off another loan from someone else and actually takes the amount the club owe her to £49.2 million? Seems a solid financial strategy and all the good work that has been done there is prior to this new owner being in charge. So i'm not exactly sure what your point is? Southampton were an incredibly well run club who invested well under the previous regime and is now borrowing money from the new owner to keep it going? Lets see where they are in 3-4 years.
I think this was very revealing and informative;
“What we can’t do is shy away from the fact that there is a significant debt sitting on the club, because of what’s been built and the past decisions the club has made,” said chief executive Gareth Rogers.
“We have to have some strong governance and strong management leadership in order to bring that debt down over the forthcoming years. Sustainability is about being here in 15, 20, 30, 40 years’ time and managing that debt is part of that.”
One big focus is to increase the club’s commercial income and contingency planning has also already been made according to whether the club is in the Champions League, Europa League or simply the Premier league next season.
Added bonus, it's only from just over a week ago - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ase-means-winners-season-scoop-74MILLION.html
These are the ones I find inexcusable.
Not investing their own money isn't something I really judge Kenwright on, although Earl is a horrible monster for failing to put anything in. The fact that Elstone is still employed after Kitbag and the repeatedly underperforming Chang deals though...that's absolutely horrendous.
I could forgive no investment given the fact they we are patient with managers, and generally seem well-run on the pitch (and of course the wonderful EITC), but their inability to generate revenues has me greatly worried for the future of the club as the popularity of the sport grows and the figures thrown around raise to the stratosphere. Not being able to sign lucrative contracts with sponsors will be a long term albatross around the club's neck, and without luck could well cripple us permanently in regards to ever being one of the biggest clubs in the world again.
Everton are stuck in what I won't argue is a difficult situation - attempting to maintain the fact they are a local club that embodies the city and competing with massive corporate style clubs. It takes a very deft business acumen to navigate that without losing out on one of those aims. I fear we don't have that business sense in the club, and due to the fact that we are a genuine club (and it's the easier option) we'll lose out on the latter option and become a historical note.
this all started because you said Mansour could leave at any point, well he isnt because he is invested in the city as a whole not just the club.
once again you have no clue whats going at S'oton do you. Shes had the club for 5 years already, its the same "regime" as it was her fathers before 2010. Its not borrowing money to keep going she has given the club money to pay off Vibrac (we've got about £20m with them too) and therefore the debt is now cheaper
@piddlywiddly ....this is what an opinion looks like i.e. not indistinct waffle. Try giving one yourself.
Mansour could leave at any point. This is fact.
I think i'll leave you to your comedy conspiracy theories now and i'll return to this in 24 months and we'll see where Southampton are.
You're a tad strange aren't you, if you'd like to quote a conspiracy theory i've put forward in this thread that would be great, i suspect like every other reply you've written to my posts in here its just poppycock and offers no counterpoint whatsoever.
Southampton have an owner who has taken over EXISTING debt and is providing this debt at a cheaper cost to the football club, what an utterly abhorrent woman she is eh, effectively spending her own money to benefit the football club.
The point you still dont understand about Mansour is that he is invested into the City more than he is the club, the group is at the very least a guarantor for a £1bn investment in the city and at the very best is essentially building a new community of housing and business in south Manchester. Once again he sounds like an utterly abhorrent owner.
Once again, you are the only person with the sensitive financial information about every owner of a football that comes up in discussion, right and are therefore best place to interpret that information for the sake of us luddites who don't pretend to know what you do?
I would argue it's 100 times more likely that Mansour would ditch the football club than he would his investments in Manchester, which are probably not charitable donations but expects a return on his money.
I would argue that any billionaire owner of a football club who pumps money in hand over first outside of the clubs revenue stream is abhorrent for football regardless of character and intentions. Something you don't seem to be able to grasp.
Show me where i have claimed to know sensitive financial information that only I know? Once again quote me, you'll fail to do so just like you accused me of comedy conspiracy theories which you just completely made up and have still failed to quote me on.
Yes, you are right, i must apologise as i am indeed mistaken. The below quote proves you don't have the first clue what is really going on and are only making worst case and best case guesses. Hope you'll accept my apology.
"the group is at the very least a guarantor for a £1bn investment in the city and at the very best is essentially building a new community of housing and business in south Manchester"
Show me where i have claimed to know sensitive financial information that only I know? Once again quote me, you'll fail to do so just like you accused me of comedy conspiracy theories which you just completely made up and have still failed to quote me on.
and that is a reply to my post how?
Once again quote me on where i have either posted a comedy conspiracy theory or claimed to know sensitive financial information that only I know.

Guesses you say!?! No buddy thats what you have been doing for the last how ever many replies you have made to me.
Everything i've said i've backed up with figures and articles, I left you hanging early on re Manchester life because i just wanted to show how little you knew about it.
This is just derailing the thread now so this is the last time ill do this, you're just too stubborn to admit how painfully misinformed the original post i replied to was.
