The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

Don't think even Bill Jong-Un's biggest fans could counter what is listed in the infograph

Think they could. Anyone with a bit of nous and time on their hands can manipulate stats into a nice infograph to make a topic look black and white.

Not that I even disagree with the idea our board leaves a lot to be desired so I'll shut up now.

Sunderland, Stoke and west ham earn more commercially than us and crystal palace and west brom are not far away. We turned over more than villa last year yet they bring in over 3 times more commercially. Sky money aside the commercial aspect is one of the reasons we cannot progress further . The top earners have more than twice the outlay in wages than ourselves.

Criminal, who actually buys Stoke merchandise?

When is the A.G.M or are they afraid to hold it again.

Cant see them doing it too soon as the club is even more rudderless than usual (item for discussion at the public meeting at the Casa on 11 July?) as the board look to have Woods running the shop.

Earl is awol, Carter died recently and Kenwright said to be ill. Without the backing of the entire board on the Phil stage Elstone will be not be likely to open himself up to questions from the floor.

They had their chance of meaningful dialogue with the board when Kenwright met with them, but they chucked it back in his face looking to score points with a selective published transcript, that sought to belittle and therefore ruined any chance of genuine 2 way communcication. They're on the outside now and always will be, hence my question, what are they looking to achieve at the meeting?

The pomposity and arrogance of Kenwright had to be shown. Still too many accept the portrayal of a long suffering evertonian struggling to keep the ship afloat, change will only happen when the veneer is wiped away and the tenure of Bill's is shown to be one of asset stripping and debt loading.

The tone and content, if it did belittle, was of Bill's own doing. The concept of 2 way dialogue has never been available, unless on terms issued and controlled by the club, wether that be between club and supporters groups, fan councils (hand picked) or local media.

There is a very tight propaganda machine in operation at Goodison, anything at all that can get somewhere near the truth must be welcome by all 'Evertonians'..

Absolutely right.

The part highlighted is akin to a third world country ruled by a dictator.

Personally I don't think the way the BU handled that interview won them any support whatsoever, and did nothing to highlight the supposed pomposity of Kenwright. In fact I think it alienated a percentage of the fanbase.

See, the whole thing with the Echo made me livid in regards to 'you want us to get the board out for you'. No, we simply wanted SOMEONE to ask why commercial revenue has not only stagnated in 10 years in the biggest explosion in exposure in the games history, its actually gone DOWN when taking inflation into account. How about that ONE single question?

Perhaps so, but the intent was to show the reality. We are no further on as a club, business or institution from that interview, which would show to a degree it backfired, that the stranglehold on information coming from the club is even tighter and that the propaganda machine rumbles on victorious.

A successful pre season will come and go if, if, we haven't sold one of our more tangible assets. While Stoke etc invest in players, we get nervous every time a rumour pops up.

With all the money sloshing about we ignore the state of Goodison, hamstrung by financial mismanagement and deals from dark corridors and snake oil salesmen, so the same stagnent plan remains. The interview at least told us who the snake oil salesman is, but, true to form most Evertonians will wait till its in the echo before believing it....shame that, tbh.
