The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

This is just supposition before you flame me, but put yourselves in the Board's position, and forget you're an Everton fan (because in a couple of cases, you're not).

- You made minimal investment to control your shareholding (even if you're not named, and are using a proxy)
- The figurehead of the club is in your pocket as you've bailed him out to allow him to pursue the dream
- The club is for sale, and you want a return on your investment. Do you:
a) Sell the club as a going concern with around £80m in debt or
b) Sit tight until the new broadcast revenues come in, keep selling the odd big name, and pay down that debt (possibly making money off it if you financed some of the debt), considering that a debt-free (or limited long-term debt) club is worth a lot more than a)

If the major owners had the long term interests of the club at heart, they'd have sold out to a buyer for a modest return years ago - someone better able to invest in the club, for their own longer-term returns, but move the club forward.

To me it looks like instead they are trying to get the best possible return on their shares, having starved the club of investment on and off the pitch since day 1. Therefore to me I would say they have their own interests at heart, and that includes BK - and honestly, if it's that much of a windfall for him, you can't blame him. Human nature etc. Shame it's taken so long and he still hasn't got it to enjoy it. That's the gamble.

Yep, let's not go into current negative spends, and look at the 14 year period instead.
Under Moyes reign, he had a net spend of 11 million over that period, under Roberto he has actually made a profit for Billy Liar n co to the tune of £20 mill +,so with my mediocre mathematics ability, I reckon , not only haven't we spent a penny on transfers we are £8m ish in profit over 12 YEARS !!!!

Add to this ,the TV money , and not just this seasons as people seem to be concentrating on, but All the tv money over Bks period in charge, premier league prize money, sale of bellfield , yearly turnstile revenue , etc etc etc and the £4.75p this useless bunch of baffoons generate on an annual basis commercially for our Once GREAT CLUB, the question needs to be asked, where's it all gone?????

Its mostly gone to wages...we carry a higher that sustainable wage bill relative to our turnover. Now the reason that our turnover is so shockingly bad is where the board need to be taken to task.

All The money The club has can't just go on wages or operating costs. The club can't keep saying the same old kak, when we know there's more money coming in. If were doing well on the pitch our fans aren't to concerned, its when we aren't we seem to turn on bk etc. It should be that way from the start he and others get away with it every year, but let's just clap, and be plucky old Everton " the team that used to be big"

Wages? Oh yea forgot how huge our wage bill is, and no other club has wages to pay, thus even the likes of Norwich and Cardiff spent approx 30m each last summer alone ! Before this fraud took charge efc was classed in the same bracket as your arsenals, utds, and that shower across the park, and now we are "plucky little Everton",and we are being dragged even further down on a daily basis , and we say n do very little if nothing about it , because he's an evertonian ( Lol), if he was an American or something he would have been rail roaded out if Goodison years ago !!!!

You know, there are so many things to best the club over the head with, but right now they should be beaten with the accusation stick for not really capitalizing on Howard's World Cup form. They've done nothing with that at all.

Didnt they say at the last AGM that the wage bill is down like 30 % or something like that, so if they use that excuse for lack of funds this window there has to be serious questions asked
