The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

I think youre struggling with the fact that Everton are spending money and the chairman is currently getting some credit points on here. Live with it....enjoy the moment, or get help.

Sig-material that.

It takes an advanced form of human empathy to give credit to someone you hate (even more so if the hate is utterly nonsensical).

I'm very proud we're one of the last big clubs left to have a local and connected Chairman, and the repeated argument the non-haters offer here (and elsewhere) that a moneywaving owner is no guarantee of healthy success is still the best argument in the whole Bill debate.

Back in the pre-Moyes era we could've easily gone the way of a Blackburn, Leeds, QPR, Sunderland or Villa, but Kenwright steadied the ship, and provided Moyes with the not-necessarily-financial support he needed to get us back to where we historically belong, which is a regular top 8, top 6 and now gunning for top 4 club.

Kenwright is still here, offering the manager the best support he can. We're now arguably in the healthiest state the club's ever been in during the Prem-era. We play good football, we've got a beautifully-glowing mix of promising youngsters and seasoned veterans, we're not worried about debt, we appear to be gaining new fans at an awesome rate, we've just spent 28 million (!) quid on our first-choice striker target, we're back in Europe and our players are talking about being hungry for a trophy in the same way the German players were before this summer's World Cup.

Goosepimps!

I for one am riding this positive wave, as I lived through the Walter Smith years, and the flirt with relegation in the seasons before that...things can be very different to how they are now...and I much prefer now. Our Chairman of the last 15 years has to take some credit in that, surely.

It's ON!

I always get worried when I read Germans talking about leaders like this.

I dont mean to offend but that right there shows how out of touch Evertonians are with with regards to the background, the goings on and the misinformation at our club.
Thing is though mate, I'm a football fan rather than a business dealings fan. I obviously want what's best for Everton, but I'll be honest and say I have absolutely no clue how it's run.

I want it to be run well obviously, but I'm more concerned, as I'm sure realistically a lot of us are, with what goes on on the pitch.

I understand that the board stir feelings in everyone, but for me I like to concentrate on the football, as that's the part I like.

Well with deadline day approaching, I guess the season is almost over for the few in here who cling to their hate of all things Kenwright to get them through their days.

Well put. I think I'm in that boat, too.

I know enough to recognise that things could be better - but, frankly, they could be a hell of a lot worse, too.

There's just so much entrenched bitterness surrounding Kenwright that it's impossible to have a reasonable discussion on the subject. So I try and keep out.
