The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

Well put. I think I'm in that boat, too.

I know enough to recognise that things could be better - but, frankly, they could be a hell of a lot worse, too.

There's just so much entrenched bitterness surrounding Kenwright that it's impossible to have a reasonable discussion on the subject. So I try and keep out.
I've taken flak in the past for suggesting this, and I do see the fact that yes, I'm sure things could be better.

But at the end of the day, we're not Blackburn, and we're not Leeds, and we're not Portsmouth.

I know this will anger the anti-Kenwright bunch but part of the problem is that neither side tends to give an inch.

It's good that people care but please don't lose sight that at the end of the day, we're all Evertonians.

'Not sure on Kenwright' isn't a sexy stance to have, is it?

Well I'm not sexy anyway so it's academical.

But I see your point, I think both sides take it to the extreme, all the time.

As I say, it's good we all care but there's absolutely no let up. One thing I hate though (and it's not a view put forward by many) is the implication that people who don't vehemently hate Kenwright are somehow, less of an Evertonian.

I wish that would stop, but otherwise it's good that folk care.

Pretty sure its a full time job mate, I mean we have 14 years of lies to get through.

Must be hard though having to deal with actual football for a few months before the Jan season starts.

However my sources indicate that Bill almost clicked on a link to this forum. That's 1 step closer to having all the excellent fuming in here mean something.

Football is all about unreasonable, fierce passion. It makes no sense that we attach ourselves to a football club at the expense of all others, that we hate the teams we're told to hate. Everything is binary, good or bad.

It's always been that way. Trying to take that reality and turn it into rational discussion is never going to work... but it's still good fun, for the most part.

Without wishing to make an example out of you personally, it's this sort of thing that hampers discussion.

From both the pro and anti Kenwright mobs, little actual debate takes place, it's mostly vaguely sarcastic and sly comments.

Wait, little debate actual takes place so what sort of discussion am I hampering?

I just really want to know what the end game is. Trying to inform posters of the deviousness of the board? Having a separate thread for conspiracy theorists? Having a thread where the same conjecture and witty comments about other operating costs can be recycled every transfer window?

Nobody forces you to read or even comment in the thread.

Thats my point. People don't discuss the board, they sideswipe and take sly (or not so sly) digs at eachother.
