The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

Ok, but do you think I can have my 30 reputation points back? I think someone was getting a little touchy...

No, you can't, and I think you need to check the definition of "wind your neck in".
You can always upgrade for a tenner for which you get a startingly shiny mug, a roll of used sellotape and the ability to +/- rep up to 10 points. Money well spent I'd say.

Now, if everyone could get back on-topic instead of juvenile point scoring then I won't have to ban or thread-ban anyone.
In case anyone's in any doubt, this particular subject matter is closed.

Don't worry mate, your post earlier tonight about Bill being boss was even more wrong than that post.

I'm extremely happy I was so drastically wrong about Martinez. On Kenwright I've been very consistent and stand by my views.

I'm on record stating I would withdraw my support of him if we didn't have a significant net spend for the summer window. 32m is significant enough for me.

If we sell someone like Seamus or Macca and not replace with utter World-Class I will be fuming along with the rest of you, but with the added disappointment of someone who has faith in our Chairman.

Vault me, i said we would spend money this window. But make the most of it, it will be a while before it happens again. We will be sell to buy again now.

But, i trust Martinez to be successful on the gamble.

I'm not so pessimistic on that one now mate, with the TV money increasing and that.

Nor am I expecting us to spend like Man city.

I trust Bobby too...selling someone key to the Martinez Masterplan would be too much of a backwards step.

A lot depends on if we can keep wages under control. If a large percentage of the increased TV revenue goes in wages then we're back to square one. My gut reaction is this will be the case, but it'll take two or three years to happen so we might get overall positive net spend in the next few windows.

If we can get a new stadium up and running, or at least close to first fit, then that timescale might just give us the hope of our current board getting a chance to cash in to someone who has both a bit more business acumen and some spare cash that they're willing to invest.

For all the criticism of the BoD, if they're looking for an out at a decent profit ( you can argue over profiteering if you like, but if you've got millions invested somewhere you're looking for double digit annualised returns and they've been here for a while ), then they need a plan which involves making the club attractive to potential suitors. The increased TV revenue, success on the pitch and a plan for a new stadium might just be what's needed.

I dont even want us to spend the TV money, I just dont wanna see outgoings to pay for the recent incomings, if we dont sell anybody, its a very well done in my eyes.

Not selling anyone would be a signal of happiness in the squad and a bit of self belief.

Spending this year's money would actually be a sign of intent from the board.

I can't and won't forgive the current custodians of our club over Kings Dock. That was our golden ticket
