Dholliday. We could fill it.
Don't worry about that
And if we don't win ?
I said, you've given the impression you are a colleague of Bill's in the past.Read my post again...I said I was writing to him with a creative suggestion. I didn't say I was 'embarking on a business venture with him' I've never denied that I work in the entertainment business, but neither have I ever said that I know BK personally. Youre making it up...probably out of desperation because the guy you trawl the internet trying to dig dirt on because of your seedy obsession is actually getting some credit points on here. Surely you don't think that the thousands of people working in the entertainment industry in this country are all colleagues of Bill Kenwright?
Having had dealings with BK in his day job, and knowing many who have dealt with him when he has his theatre/film producer hat on, I can see how it has been difficult to adapt his methods in his core industry to the business of football.

One thing I can tell you about Bill, based on his day job in the theatre...he is trusting and loyal to friends(the reason for his support of Barrymore) but when he turns he is absolutely ruthless.

He certainly isn't thick. Just ask anyone who has dealings with him in his day job. He's the toughest negotiator in the theatre business and if you lose his trust he is merciless.Transfering this demeanour to the business of football has always been Bills biggest problem. He can fight dirty if he feels the need. Just ask Gregg.

I think we do, i know @dellboy thinks we don't due to the region. But, i go a few times a year to the corporate at Sunderland and its always rammed. Sunderland is not more affluent than Liverpool.
And, I'm sure i read recently that outside London, Liverpool has the fastest growing economy in England.
Liverpool is a genuinely world-famous city, and not just because of The Beatles. I cringe everytime I tell a foreigner I support Everton, and they have no idea who I'm talking about until I say "in the city of Liverpool". Their eyes light up in recognition of the RS.
Within England, Everton is a much-respected historical club but the younger Prem-era fan doesn't see us as big or glamorous. We'd have to bank on twenty-thousand extra Evertonians coming, rather than new fans. We may have over 100k match-willing Evertonians in the UK, and our Facebook has over 1m likes (seems a massive increase to a couple of years ago), so the chance is still good we can fill 55k every home game.
But the trick is to think like an investor. Someone who doesn't care about Everton like we do, who may barely care about football at all. What's the risk on his not getting his return back? How good are the chances of sizable profit on his investment? He has to analyse whether we can fill a bigger stadium, the answer from his prespective isn't that clear-cut.
I said, you've given the impression you are a colleague of Bill's in the past.
Here's what you said in the last year alone:
So I think from that Steve, though you might not be consciously aware of it, you do give people the view you're an associate of Kenwright's (and an associate of his associates). It's unsurprising, therefore, that anyone would believe you have his ear on matters and argue from a position of strength on the issue of his chairmanship of EFC.
A well positioned, well appointed stadium could generate cash all year round, not just on 25 days a year.
The "could we fill a 55000 every match" point is looking at it the wrong way.
A better question is, "what revenue does Goodison raise other than match days?" Not much I would guess.
A well positioned, well appointed stadium could generate cash all year round, not just on 25 days a year.
How do you mean, mate? Maybe that it could host other events?
But the trick is to think like an investor.
Im pretty sure I read at one time that the Reebok made as much money from corperate events as it did from hostingConcerts, corporate events/meetings, weddings, other sports, (not keen on that one myself, but could be done), exhibitions, markets/car boot sales, lob a decent restaurant in it as well. You could utilise space under the stands for community sports halls/gym/bowling/cricket.
Just takes a bit of thought really.
Changy however is more than willing to discuss a wide range of Everton related topics. This thread though is his spiritual home.
